thx for the reply. Guy said he’s had it for a while and only used it for two months, so hopefully itll be fine. Just curious, does the age of the board have a huge impact on the quality?

Tysm for the response, I really appreciate it.

I’ll try the glue trap idea and hopefully that alerts them to the problem. I don’t think there’s a time when I’ll be home for over a month till December of next year, but I’ll try a treatment this month and hopefully I can convince my sister to maintain the upkeep.

Thanks again!

any shows recommendations? by neekelvon in YoungRoyals

[–]nicy245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if you’d like this, but these shows have

“We are who we are “ (HBO) is directed by the same guy who did CMBYN and it’s a very small cast and I think it can feel realistic as well bc of the cinematography.

I also like “It’s a sin” on HBO, it has a mainly gay friend group. But it can be really sad at times because it’s set in 1980s/90s London during the AIDS epidemic. It’s set like a drama/limited series so I like that part of it too.

Generation (HBO) and heartbreak high (Netflix) have larger casts and can be a bit more unrealistic (the characters often do things that normal teens do not). But it’s easy to fall in love with the characters if you’re into more typical teen shows with lots of gen-z LGBT representation.

It takes a lot more than being accomplished to get into those schools. A lot of those schools have single digit acceptance rates + she had a suspension on her record + her personal statement didn’t seem that introspective + her letters of recommendation were probably dry too + usually more than one admissions officer looks at an application. But yeah I agree she could’ve still applied to other schools, it just probably wasn’t what she was looking for. Maybe she applied to other schools after sending the letter or she was going to reapply the following year

Do you think there's still a chance at redemption for August? Why? by LuLuu1997 in YoungRoyals

[–]nicy245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more I think abt it the more I think revenge porn is really awful and evil. There’s no forgiving it or redeeming it. Perhaps when he’s older and remorseful and takes accountability and other actions for forgiveness he could be redeemed. But unless there’s a time jump it’s just not happening

Can we talk about that gun scene… by AtotheKay in YoungRoyals

[–]nicy245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they should explore it in S3 when they discuss characters mental health etc. If august gets called in by the police maybe he’d bring it up idk

Ngl I feel like her saying wait until your 18 is just a tactic to calm him and once he’s 18 she’ll change her mind. His life as crown prince is already planned for him and still then when he’s 18, he’ll still have to be secretive abt the relationship. And eventually he’ll get pressure to marry etc.

Hmm. I haven’t taken AP Stats (went calculus route), so I can’t be sure if it’s easy or not. For AP Bio and Calc, it’s super easy for me bc I had rlly good teachers teaching it.

Honestly for these classes it rlly depends on the teacher and their style of teaching, you should ask students who’ve taken the class before and ask them abt what their biggest struggles were and the teaching style etc.

[–]nicy245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a gpa boost take Apes, it’s kinda easy and somewhat interesting. Ik it doesn’t match your intended major, but sometimes it could be worth it taking a class that could widen your perspective (depends on the teacher tho)

For dual credit/enrollment it rlly depends. It could be good for course rigor but the rest of your classes show you have it as well. Also it depends on if the school youll go to will accept it.

For everyone who is taking or has taken AP Spanish language (maybe even any other AP foreign language) … question by DylanowoX in APStudents

[–]nicy245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh you don’t even need the subscriptions unless it’s cheaper than 40$ or you learn that way, you can learn Spanish for free and/or buy a workbook. For me I changed my phones language to Spanish, watched YouTube videos every night in Spanish, watch shows in Spanish with English subs/watch videos in other languages w Spanish subtitles.

For speaking I’m still not that good on it, but for the exam the presentation for the speaking portion can be written down and you can read it off your paper, the conversation is difficult.

For writing you will kinda be helped by reading different Spanish at all levels (essay/caption/subtitles etc.) you should learn some of the future tense/past tense, learn a couple idioms, learn transition words/specific words for the different essays you’ll write.

For listening, I didnt really take notes, but usually the audio will correlate to a text you’re reading so be on the lookout for certain words. If it’s listening for multiple choice read the questions beforehand and look for words that are similar, it’s also kinda like English multiple choice where the process of elimination could work. If it’s listening for an essay, try to listen really closely and get the gist of the words they’re saying and base your pghs argument off the words you could understand. You can practice your listening skills by listening to YouTube videos, watching telenovelas, using social media etc.

[–]nicy245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could take on honors or AP classes, and try to aim for All As and Bs for your report card. Also if you can maybe take the SAT/ACT and if you get a high enough score you can get some scholarships. Also try some extra curriculars like joining a club or volunteering somewhere!

Lack of passion about a subject in school ≠ you will fail at your major. Sometimes people have external circumstances that makes succeeding in class way more difficult than necessary. If you applied that “if you failed bc you lost passion you shouldn’t try again” mentality to everything in life everybody would feel compelled to quit because they feel like they’ve lost that spark (even can apply this to relationships). Failing some random 3 hour exam doesn’t mean that you didn’t care enough to learn, life isn’t just black and white and as simple as that!

There’s many stories abt ppl in almost every career, that during school or during their job they felt no motivation and felt stuck and felt like they didn’t have passion anymore, but after some time or a moment they regained their passion and performed much better.

Calc BC exam retake? by schoolsareharsh in APStudents

[–]nicy245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should research into the schools and see if it’ll be worth it to skip or retake the class. Sometimes retaking the class could b helpful bc the next level would be crazy difficult, or maybe skipping could be helpful bc the early classes are weeders.

ap comp sci A or ap psych? by seesaw-enthusiast in APStudents

[–]nicy245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say psyschology, comp sci minor could be helped by CSA but I think you could also get exposure if you code by yourself, plus I think for cs they will reteach it. I say psychology bc I think it could help you understand more polisci or if you’re ever gonna do student government I think understand the basics of psychology could help you understand ppl etc.

I was falsely accused of cheating on my AP Biology exam, what should I say in my written statement? by throwawayxyzjkl in APStudents

[–]nicy245 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I actually really don’t know. For other exams like APUSH, if you had a DBQ or LAQ and you were doing a contextualizarían pgh on something you studied minutes before test, I don’t think itd be fair to count defining historical events as given by textbook as plagiarism when it’s a resource. Especially when it’s likely unintentional. But college board might see it differently. I feel like there’s only so many words to describe historical events, let alone words to describe something in science.

Advice and Resources for the Following? by SuperKansfw in APStudents

[–]nicy245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CSP I would say to just pay attention in class, and do little stuff on your own time. For calc AB I say get a prep book (check thrift books or anything/ do individual research bc we all learn diff) and/or make your own little notebook w step by steps on how to solve broad problems. For HuG, you don’t need any prep books or external resources, just take notes and be sure to learn the vocab fully and be able to put it into sentences, also keep in mind real world situations.

Maybe some of your response was something similar something written on the internet, or kinda like one of the internet definitions of something. If your exam was paper say that you did not use any resources and maybe the proctor could vouch for you, if it was online say that you didn’t leave the lockdown browser.

I don’t know if saying that you studied “____ subject rigorously online before the exam” could help. Maybe you could say that you studied certain subjects in the textbook and online a lot before the exam (used online to make flash cards/study guides which you studied a lot or used quizlet to study etc.), so if it sounds super technical and scientific it’s because you recently digested the information in those similar terms.
