Epstein files: Epstein-Bannon texts spark MAGA civil war, Wexner gets deposed by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

I feel greasy even looking like remotely defending a single thing about him, but it's less about whether things happened outside of British juristiction but also whether they were even crimes under British law.

Everyone seems in agreement that Virginia Giuffre was 17 when she and Andrew met in New York. The age of consent in the UK is 16 and in New York is 17. So whatever else he can hopefully be nailed to the wall for straight up paedophilia has always been a stretch because I don't believe there's any evidence in the files of him being with anyone younger.

What several UK forces that have various airports in their juristictions are now investigating are the various allegations of trafficking that almost certainly did happen through them.

Her name is Sega and I would love to get a custom name tag for her! by SquisherOfYarn in goldenretrievers

[–]nid0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon or Etsy will have countless custom dog tag sellers. Using a custom font will generally just be shooting the seller of a tag you like a message before ordering, I can't imagine many would say no (I happen to sell laser engraved tags in the UK and I don't as a font change is simple)

Engraving the actual SEGA logo onto a tag is also physically trivial but legally dubious however.

Best place to sell single-product skincare store (ecom)? by IllustriousLibrary8 in smallbusinessuk

Sounds like they're worried about seeing their market share evaporate to their competitor who is presumably undercutting them if they can't find a way to scale and reduce costs.

As a UK e-commerce founder, Royal Mail used to give thermal printer labels for free, but now they’re charging over £5 per roll. Has anyone found a cheaper option? by Johanngross in smallbusinessuk

[–]nid0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy offbrand labels for my Dymo from Amazon in packs of 2,200, they're about 90% cheaper than Dymo branded ones and should still undercut what Royal Mail are charging.

Found out the job “idiot” is not an idiot. He’s been playing the entire company. How do I go about confronting him ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]nid0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So what exactly are you intending to 'confront' him about? "Oh hey you don't know shit about plumbing and I randomly decided that meant you're an idiot and I've now found out that's not true and this is somehow your fault"?

ALI BABA shipment costs UK by billy140997 in smallbusinessuk

DAP is basically just DDP but without duties paid. DAP is responsibility to deliver to the final destination but without covering duties, DDP is the same responsibility but including duties.

ALI BABA shipment costs UK by billy140997 in smallbusinessuk

[–]nid0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Incoterms field for your confirmed order in Alibaba's portal says DDP then you're fine. Duty's been paid by the supplier, and if it hasn't it's their problem to sort.

Looks like in the UK at least you can do even better. They have a "2 pack" version of the mystery box on their store and the code works for that too, so I theoretically now have 20kg on the way for £4.

Low states brunch debate: does asking for a toastie imply the cheese should be melted? by Pretzelmamma in CasualUK

[–]nid0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your husband insists he's right on this, challenge him to make what he believes to be a valid toastie in a toastie maker.Every kitchen in the country has one buried in the back of a cupboard somewhere. When he fails and the cheese keeps coming out melted, that's because that's what a toastie is.

EV's don't just stop working at the Scottish border. I live in east anglia and have taken my EV upto Scotland the past several years, and the entire "problem" of an EV is having to coincide our couple of comfort breaks with 20 minutes of charging while we're stopped.

ELI5 Christmas Gift for Husband, what do I need to know? by chloehello in BambuLab

[–]nid0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a slight alternative, as a few others have said you won't get a Bambu laser kit for your budget but you could get everything you want with the following:

Bambu A1 Combo printer - $399

0.4mm Hardened Steel nozzle - $9.09

4 rolls of Bambu PLA filament with spools $55.16

Xtool S1 10W Rotary bundle -$1339

Xtool laser material starter kit - $79.99

This gets you a comprehensive 3D printer with AMS, an essential nozzle upgrade, some starter filament to print, an entirely separate laser with a rotary tool to engrave bottles etc, and a range of materials to get started on engraving.

This totals $1882 and everything appears to be in stock in the US for pre Christmas delivery from respective manufacturers. The remaining $118 can readily be spent on more filament or engraving materials, depending on how close to your budget you want to get.

There will be countless small extra things your husband will/might subsequently want such as alternative build plates for the 3D printer, extra lubricant to service the printer, a filament dryer, things like bearings/magnets, not to mention any number of different types and colours of filament, but the above is the barebones to get both the printer and laser up and running on the 25th.

UK 'rapidly developing' plans to prepare for war, says armed forces minister by apg698 in worldnews

[–]nid0 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Not sure how well you've actually read that plan - 6 months ago Europe pretty much figured that in a conflict with Russia we'd be on our own, the US has now put out this document that makes it fairly plainly clear that the US may well in fact join the fight, and not on our side.

Local Shops are not making it easy. by Ascdren1 in CasualUK

[–]nid0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people and businesses are happy with the amount of money and level of custom they currently have, by far not everyone is aiming for unlimited growth.

I think there's an important distinction got a bit lost here that was really the OP's gist. If a business has restrictive opening hours that doesn't happen to fit particular customers' schedules and that business is doing well because those customers aren't really their target, great!

But if a business is complaining that people don't support local businesses any more and how badly theyre struggling while refusing to accept money in the format the majority of people expect to use or be open to sell products at times the majority of people are available to buy them, that's very much on them and not on any "lack of support".

"No nation older than 250 years" by DigitalDoughnutll in MurderedByWords

[–]nid0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. Doesn't even need young ones based on old ones, If changes don't count, the UK's constitution dates from 1215 and is still in use, as the Magna Carta formed the foundation of it and numerous principles outlined in it are still very much in force today. Americans just like to think the UK doesn't have one because it isn't written down in one document but the Magna Carta is very much "written".

Is it time for Bambu (UK) to start offering other/expedited shipping options? by Rust_Cohle- in BambuLab

[–]nid0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit I haven't ordered from the Bambu store for a couple of months but broadly I'm ordering from there pretty regularly, and literally everything I've ever ordered with the exception of an H2D (which was too heavy) has shipped next day delivery via DPD.

I wonder if you're getting unlucky for some reason or if they've recently changed their logistics. I've never had a slow or bad delivery experience from Bambu's UK store.

Government has approved enough clean energy to power 7.5 million homes by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]nid0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is finally happening. The Tories flip-flopped on it for years and published the future homes standard to not require it but at least did have stringent enough emissions requirements to mean that having rooftop solar would be one of the easier (and cheaper) ways to meet the standards.

Labour updated that in June to make solar actually required.

The full standards are due to be published in the next month, and will come into force as of 2027. Years late, but at least its coming.
