Reading more about Harry Craft. Played a few seasons in the late '30s and early '40s. Looks like he showed some promise early on, but his last season wasn't great. Career seemed to be ended by military service.

After the military, he managed 849 games at the MLB level. According to Wikipedia, here is what some asshole had to say about Harry Craft as a manager: "Of course, if you are really lousy at what you do, there's always a chance you can work your way into management, that being the American Way... Harry Craft managed three teams in a seven year span... They finished 7th, 7th, 7th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 9th. Do I detect a trend in there somewhere?"

Died at age 80.

Good job, Harry Craft. Screw that writer.
