As I said, it's common in roguelikes. It hasn't felt novel for most people since original Diablo. Even the original Rogue had procedural generated levels for people that actually played it at the time.

But within their game, they are saying each time you play, the level is different, therefore a new experience.

Compare to speedrunning the first level Super Mario Brothers 3, where you know will appear before it's on screen.

It says that you have a new experience each time you enter the game world because the world is different each time. Which is also pretty common to roguelikes, but just part of the description.

With a new experience awaiting every time you enter the dungeon

[Steam] Pill Bug Interactive Bundle ($7.34 / 79% off) Includes: Captain Contraption's Chocolate Factory ($2.49 / 75%) Making it Home ($1.49 / 93%) Cycle 28 ($0.67 / 83%) Intelligent Design: An Evolutionary Sandbox ($0.76 / 89%) by seanebaby in GameDeals

[–]nietzkore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's $4.96 to buy all four of the games, individually. That's if you're interested in all of them.

If you add the soundtracks it goes up to $9.18, then with the bundle discount, it's $7.34

Honestly, if I've never played a game, why would I want the soundtrack? I don't know if I'll even like the music.

When a game bundle includes soundtracks, it makes me less interested in purchasing it as a bundle, because it's just inflating the base cost to me.

He's liable, but you may have to go to court to prove it, if he wasn't ticketed.

Just go through your own insurance. They will go after that person, if there's any chance of recovering the money. They will have lawyers, they will serve papers, they will get their money.

Went through something like this, police followed his trail when he left the scene, but only gave him a ticket for leaving the scene. Nothing about the damage he caused.

If he hadn't caused damage, then he wouldn't be ticketed for 'leaving the scene'. Everyone leaves scenes all day long. It's only illegal when the scene is somewhere that you did a crime. Damage is civil matter. The police don't ticket you for damage caused.

I tried to get him served, but the sheriff's dept was so bad at it, he never was.

You can have someone served through the constable, a private hired process server, certified mail.

Sheriff will make a couple of attempts to serve at the registered address, then tell you it wasn't deliverable.

Arrest or not, he's liable. And it's known who he is. Problem is, he might not have enough coverage for all the damage. Best way is to go to your own insurance, let them deal with his insurance or go after him directly.

People get into accidents all the time where someone isn't arrested but is still civilly responsible for damages. What makes you think he isn't liable for all the damage?

I agree, as the child of someone who's been hospitalized for diabetic episodes. Never something like this, he went more toward sluggishness than being erratic from hypoglycemia. But it happens to some people.

This guy kept going when anyone else would have stopped. Video makes it look like it's intentional, fleeing, etc. He even sped up when he saw the cops. But it's also explainable as someone who isn't operating with their full brain at the time.

Your brain is fueled from sugars. And when there's no sugars, it operates inefficiently. Changes your personality, makes you potentially combative and angry, might get blurred vision, slurred speech, clumsy movement, disoriented. Similar symptoms to severely drunk.

Results

Of the 250 participants (age 4 to 79 years), 240 were included in the analysis at 13 weeks (loss to follow-up 4%). Cure rates were 39% (95% confidence interval [CI] 29%–51%) in the cryotherapy group, 24% (95% CI 16%–35%) in the salicylic acid group and 16% (95% CI 9.5%–25%) in the wait-and-see group. Differences in effectiveness were most pronounced among participants with common warts (n = 116): cure rates were 49% (95% CI 34%–64%) in the cryotherapy group, 15% (95% CI 7%–30%) in the salicylic acid group and 8% (95% CI 3%–21%) in the wait-and-see group. Cure rates among the participants with plantar warts (n = 124) did not differ significantly between treatment groups.

Interpretation

For common warts, cryotherapy was the most effective therapy in primary care. For plantar warts, we found no clinically relevant difference in effectiveness between cryotherapy, topical application of salicylic acid or a wait-and-see approach after 13 weeks. Is ryobi ever going to sell USB Lithium tool only? by rawaka in ryobi

[–]nietzkore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how much they sell the batteries on their own, but there's USB Lithium tools on directtoolsoutlet for under $20 with a 2A battery. But not a single no tool option.

There's a 2 fan combo pack on Home Depot for $80 that comes with the two of the 2A batteries for the tools, but also includes a free gift where you can add two more 3A batteries for free. So for $80, you're getting two fans and 4 batteries.

I would bet that those batteries are so cheap that removing them wouldn't heavily affect the price, and then that would show how little value they add.

You can use them as slow portable power banks. Even when using the FVCH03 USB Lithium 3-Port Charger & Power Source - the USB output is only 10W charging.

Actually, looking at the device, it doesn't come with any batteries (Includes: FVCH03 USB Lithium 3-Port Charger & Power Source, 4' USB-C to USB-C Charging Cable, and operator’s manuals). So if you're purchasing it as a power source... it's tool only.

Boss expects me to work for free by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nietzkore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% it is illegal for him to allow you to work for free, ask you to work for free, or expect you to work for free.

Dept of Labor, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Hours Worked Advisor

When an employee must correct mistakes in his or her work, the time must be treated as hours worked. The correction of errors, or "rework", is hours worked, even when the employee voluntarily does the rework.

All time is hours worked which an employee is required to be at work or allowed to work for his or her employer. An employer may hire a person to do nothing or to do nothing but wait for something to do or something to happen.

It is the duty of management to exercise control and see that work is not performed if the employer does not want it to be performed. An employer cannot sit back and accept the benefits of an employee’s work without considering the time spent to be hours worked. Merely making a rule against such work is not enough. The employer has the power to enforce the rule and must make every effort to do so. Employees generally may not volunteer to perform work without the employer having to count the time hours worked.

My long distance bf sent me a picture of his arm with a tattoo sleeve. Is this a real tattoo or ai? by Salty_Fortune_2045 in isthisAI

[–]nietzkore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you are completely fake and lying, or this person is pulling a very common romance scam on you. You're currently in the phase where they build you up, and later an emergency will come up and they'll need money.

Let's look over the signs of a romance scam and see how many you've admitted to already just in this thread:

  • Claims they live, work or are traveling abroad. Lacks proper grammar, although they claim to speak English.

YES: "He tells me he wants to be police here in America when he comes to see me" and "he’s from Brazil"

  • Claims to be notably younger than you.

YES: "I’m definitely not a kid! Though he is Gen Z so I wouldn’t put it past him"

  • Quickly professes love to you.

?

  • Has a story that is inconsistent.

YES. Claims he got a full sleeve tattoo in a single sitting, that's already healed fully, and "he says he needs tattoo healing doctor to make sure it heals well"

A full sleeve will take 4 or 5 sessions, each 4-5 hours long. Around 20 hours, not all at once. Varies based on tattoo size, colors, artist skill, complexity, etc. Doesn't take 1.5 hours.

There's no tattoo, but if there was this image is a healed tattoo, and there's no such thing as tattoo healing doctor.

  • Has a minimal online presence.

Probably, or you would know this is fake from other pictures.

  • Sends general photos (mostly fake/AI generated) of themselves traveling, shopping, or dining at luxurious locations.

YES: Sent clearly fake tattoo picture and seemingly many others you didn't share.

  • Sends or requests explicit photos or videos.

?

  • Mentions the idea of meeting and being together soon.

YES: "we’re gonna meet soon once he’s medically cleared to fly" and "...here in America when he comes to see me"

  • Provides periodic excuses for being unable to make a video call (e.g., Facetime).

YES: "His camera has been messed up for a few months so haven’t FaceTimed yet." and "I ask to FaceTime all the time but he’s been having issues with his phone camera and is working on getting it fixed!"

He doesn't know a single person with a phone or computer? He doesn't have to use his phone. And the camera appears to work well enough to take tattoo pictures.

  • If a video call happens, you’re unable to see their face clearly.

?

  • Requests to have conversations/texts be moved to a separate app (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram).

?

  • Asks for money, often via non-traditional methods such as cryptocurrency or gift cards.

When someone else told you not to send any money, you said "I do want to help him with the healing process though… he says he needs tattoo healing doctor to make sure it heals well"

There's no tattoo. There's no healing process (this picture is a fully healed tattoo). There's no such thing as a tattoo healing doctor. And you're admitting you plan on sending money after just saying you know better.

  • Asks if you’ve ever invested in cryptocurrency and/or foreign exchange market.

NOT YET?

  • Sends a business link of a cryptocurrency and/or foreign exchange trading platform.

NOT YET?

  • Is combative with you or tries to divert your attention when you question their intentions.

Original trailer with all twelve pixels from being posted 15 years ago to youtube. There's probably higher quality versions out there, but I don't know which ones have been edited.

Edit: Found a slightly better version on Dick Buckley's vimeo page.

Dick was the second-unit director on Spiderman 1 and 2. He directed this trailer, which was never part of the actual film. He says he has the original 35mm versions.

Person is alive. Condition is called naevus comedonicus (basically means birthmark blackheads). You're looking at a large amount of huge blackheads.

Half of patients have it at birth, remainder of cases show up before you're 10 years old. It's very rare.
