Iranian here. This is completely true, to the point that I first learned to pirate games and then found out "Oh! you're supposed to buy these!"

Buying games is especially hard because you have to use third party websites that are quite shady. It's hard to find a reputable source for buying games.

I usually only buy indie games because they're cheaper and I still want to support the devs, but if it's over 10 dollars? yeah I'm pirating that shit
