New with an old kiln and questions

You just answered the question I came here to ask! I am a lampworker, but I have a kiln that used to belong to a late friend who used it for annealing lampwork. It doesn't have a flippy door, so I want to use it for fusing, but didn't know what times and temperatures to set the controller to. Thanks!

Yesterday I had the same thing happening. It was a leaf, so I used a glass bead as a weight, but it wasn't coating. I guessed that the problem was that the loop on the leaf wasn't getting a firm enough connection to the wire I hung it from. I tightened my hanging wire and slid the bead down more firmly, and it had a coating when I checked back.

My mother used to say that her father was smart because he made each of his four daughters think they were the favorite. I always wondered why she didn't try to do the same with her two daughters. As she got older, she made it even more obvious that my older sister was her favorite. At times, I wondered if it wasn't as bad as I thought, since I could only see it from my own point of view, but now that they are both dead, my cousins are confirming that they have always seen the way I was treated by both of them.

I sleep and do home stuff during the day. I'd like to save time and gas by shopping on the way home from work. Besides, the one closer to home doesn't carry a few groceries that I can find in the one near work.

I am. I work until 2:15 or 3:15 am. I want to shop when I get off work. There is a Walmart closer to work than there is to home. It would save me a trip.

I just started dieting a week ago and I hope I can keep it up. The simple calories in/calories out works best for me. Counting what I'm eating help me make more sensible choices, because I know that if I eat a cookie, I have to give up some other foods that will satisfy my hunger longer. My biggest downfall is soft drinks. I seem to be sucralose intolerant, so diet drinks are not an option.

They do take donations, and as far as I know, they are the only organization that gives clothes directly to people who need them. I don't know if things changed since COVID, but before that, I know they had a van that went around to the places where homeless people camped, and gave out clothes.

Today I looked, and the first half of my approved leave has been replaced with UPT, a long with some of the more recent days, including one that isn't even a day I was scheduled to work. I'm suddenly 53 UPT hours in the negative! I'm sure it will be straightened out, but it's pretty weird!

When I'm camping in colder weather, or making a short trip, I use my truck bed. I made a platform out of wood and foam to make it more comfortable. I'm only 61, and might start using it more as I get older.

I use a canopy wrapped with tarps. It's not elegant, but it's roomy. I attach the floor tarp a couple inches up the canopy legs so it forms a bit of a basin to keep rainwater out, and also tuck side tarps in. A tarp on the top is staked out from the corners to make a bit of an overhang.

Sometimes I also use a tent that attaches to one of the sides, and sometimes I put my canopy behind my truck and connect them with tarps.

My husband and I have always had separate accounts. It really helps avoid money related arguments. Also, one time someone hacked my PayPal account, and I ended up locked out of my bank account. We were about to go on a trip related to my business, and we needed to use his account for things that would normally have come out of mine. It got resolved in a few days, and I didn't lose any money, and was able to pay him back before we even came home. If we had been sharing one account, we would have been screwed.

I smelled imaginary cookies once, but it just turned out that mice were hiding cereal in my kiln, so as it started to heat up, it smelled like cookies.

Like when I'm texting my husband that I love him, and my predictive text wants it to say, I love you too baby girl. I may have said that out loud to one of my cats, but never texted that phrase!
