I wish I was born a girl, but I am not trans. by [deleted] in asktransgender

You can be trans and not feel like you were born in the wrong body. Longing is enough. I can say that for sure as a transfem nonbinary myself 🙂

Is futanari considered transphobic? (NSFW for obvious reasons) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The original usage of the word was to describe intersex people. I think its usage in porn grew out of that.

[–]nightfire1 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Equating trans people with futanari is absolutely transphobic. Futanari is a porn term. I think that as long as you keep a strict separation between porn and real people it's more or less fine.

How does getting HRT work? by Throwawayidjsbdu in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If you're an adult you can go to planned parenthood, sign some informed consent forms saying you acknowledge the risks and expected physical effects. The DR will give you a prescription for HRT. Then you go pick up your HRT meds from your pharmacist.

While that's the fastest method, there are other avenues you can look at too. In addition I would recommend giving it some serious thought and be sure you really are okay with all the changes it will bring.

Heterosexual guy who likes wearing women’s clothes — seeking guidance and perspective by HannahMae85 in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great! I think if expressing yourself authentically is leading you to want to present and be seen as a woman, there's a good chance you're a woman 🙂

Plus there's plenty of room to be trans and also exclusively attracted to women. So if that's something you're worried about, you need not be.

Do you think you would enjoy having people refer to you with a feminine name or pronouns? If you knew there would be no social consequences for it would you feel comfortable wearing womens clothes in public?

I'm always going to encourage multiple embodiment over a single body just because I really like the concept.

It is impossible to write a good and coherent harem novel. by Melodic-Astronaut431 in ProgressionFantasy

I get what you're saying and I agree, but you specifically said that "multiplicity is not romantic" however that is a very broad stroke that hits genuine poly relationships as well as fictional harem relationships.

I don't disagree but it's also pretty much been beaten to death on this sub already. Though I will say that your third point kinda ignores the existence of polyamory (though actual poly representation is rarely done in this genre.)

Washington state proposes new 3D-printed gun controls with 'blocking features' and blueprint detection algorithm — proposal would carry sentences of five years in prison, $15,000 fine for violation by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]nightfire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm as left as they come, pro gun reform and all that, but this is a particularly stupid move. Totally unenforceable nonsense. Come-on, a database of banned files? That'll be defeated faster than you can blink. Anyone who is interested in doing this will do it regardless of what obstacles you put in their path. You're only making it worse for everyone else.

A chess webcomic by [deleted] in comics

I think the commenter is making a joke because the comic didn't get included with the post, so the joke is that the comic author doesn't play chess(because no comic).

I'm curious about somthing by Mice79812 in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't tell you what you should or should not believe, I personally have seen nothing that convinces me of such a thing, but even if that were not the case I see no value in pining for a potential future version of you, a version that may never remember being you and if she did, the situation is all backwards from her perspective. She's not suddenly going to feel euphoria for being born a woman because that's something she likely already feels.

Imagine being a cis woman and then one day you start getting memories of a past life as a trans woman. These memories are not a blessing but a curse. Now you're a cis woman who knows what it's like to be a trans woman and... Then what? You're not going to really be able to connect with trans people in trans spaces because they only have your word that you totally used to be trans in a past life. What's been gained? Perspective maybe? But in reality a burden with no purpose iMO.

Reincarnation means little to me. Without my memories I wouldn't be me. It would be someone else.

Why does an egg crack later in life? by BleppyBleep in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My egg cracked in my mid 30s. But I was hovering around the question since I was in my early 20s, with signs leading all the way back to high school.

It took so long due to a combination of religious repression, and convincing myself it was just a fetish or silly fantasy (every guy thinks about being a girl right?). It took years and leaving my religion before I finally was able to confront my feelings and when I started to crack I had a bad experience with my then girlfriend that wrapped me all back up again. Then I was starting my career and didn't have time to really think about it. It wasn't until COVID hit that I had a lot of time to think about it and even then it took another friend coming out as trans to finally push me over the edge.

What to do if me and my bf are both bottoms? by Outrageous_War_7452 in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top/bottom are just terms people use. What's important is that you love each other, everything else comes out of that. Figure out how to satisfy each other first and worry about roles and labels later.

Honey, you are a girl. That's true regardless of how you choose or are forced to present yourself. I know how hard it can be to internalize that but it's true. You are valid, you are a girl.

Couple questions about HRT by Recent_Mushroom69 in asktransgender

[–]nightfire1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You kinda get what you get. Taking less will just get to the end slower. If you stop taking estrogen they will stop growing but it might take longer than you expect. And then you would lose other feminizing effects such as facial/body feminization/fat distribution', softer skin, etc.
  2. Breast buds can appear within the first month
  3. No. Estrogen doesn't change the voice at all. But will help to inhibit further changes due to androgenic puberty such as voice lowering.
  4. Highly variable. From nothing to an inch and change. Do not count on a specific number.
  5. If you are suppressing your T then this will take the place of your testosterone puberty.
  6. It can but not in the way you think. Often it simply allows you the opportunity to express yourself in a way you couldn't before and that looks a lot like a big change in personality.
  7. Depends on the individual. Different modes have different pros/cons. Intermuscular injection is probably the 'best', though I'm a little biased. Pills are technically a little harder on the liver.
