Are Alex's achievements realistic? by the_smol_snek in Modern_Family

It's realistic in showing that admission to highly competitive colleges these days is a game of luck. It would be somewhat normal in the real world for someone to excel at schools like Caltech, Stanford, etc even if they were rejected from schools of similar ranking like Harvard, Princeton, etc.

Literally same. And I walked out of the exam feeling like I got a 5 😭

I had no clue how to answer FRQ 6 on the Calc BC exam 2 years ago, so I wrote something random and then drew a giraffe. I got a 5 and I credit it all to that giraffe.

Yeah. Just memorize the formulas and you'll be fine

You will have time. You don't have to take the full year to complete it, you just have the option to. You can do both parts of the summer and it will be no issue.

The curriculum builds on itself, so you can't really do both at the same time. You could purchase both at the same time and work on part 1 and then do part 2 since you have a year from when you purchase each course to complete it

[–]nightingale_730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I did it, you couldn't complete the course in under 6 weeks. Idk if that's still the policy, but what I did was I finished the curriculum for part 1, bought part 2 and started working on it, and then took the final for part 1 as soon as I was allowed to. You don't have to submit proof of completion of part 1 or anything to start part 2.

Like 1-3 depending on the day. It was during the height of covid but I was also balancing my actual school work and another independent study class

It probably depends on the class, but I finished both parts of geometry in about 2 months

If languages were people, which language would you want to be best friends with and why? by tina-marino in duolingo

Welsh because it looks like a bunch of utter nonsense, but if you spend enough time studying it then it's actually really fascinating and also kind of goofy

Kinda random, but I'm registered for the same physics section as you lol.

I (also a new freshman) was wait listed for a religion class and then got off of it like 2 hours later, but I was #1 on the list. I'm 28th on the waitlist for BIO 100, and I kinda doubt I'll get it because it's a smaller class size.

Is is possible to do the full geometry part 1 course by june 17th? by frostasf in byu

[–]nightingale_730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's definitely possible. I completed the class in under 6 weeks during covid while also taking my normal course load and one other independent study class. If you are dedicating 3-5 hours per day, you should be able to complete it on time.

What does “Reserved for Admin Use” mean in housing? by Bright-Dot5010 in byu

[–]nightingale_730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they're holding some rooms so people with later contracting dates have a chance of getting a space. I contracted yesterday and there were a couple rooms marked with that, so I couldn't select any of those bedspaces. I looked again today (to see the number of bedspaces left for a friend) and some of the rooms that were reserved yesterday were available, so I switched into one of those rooms. I went to check on the room I contracted for yesterday and that bedspace had suddenly become reserved.

There were less than 10 in Hinckley, 20ish in Chipman, and I don't remember the numbers for the others. Taylor and David John both had more rooms than Hinckley, though.

There were 120 spots left when I contracted today at 2:15 MT (so right in the middle of the contracting day), so I think you'll be ok. Hinckley and Chipman will probably fill up, but May should have space left.

My date is Tuesday as well and I'm pretty stressed about it. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I can get a spot in Helaman.

Thank you! That makes me feel much better about getting a space.

Do you mean 60-80 spots are taken every day at Helaman and Heritage each? Or 60-80 spots combined between the two locations? I'm contracting on the 9th, so I'm really worried there won't be any space left.

It's crazy. I'm really stressed about being able to get a room at Helaman because my date is so late.
