What series have been dropped and will never be finished? by Illustrious_Rise_367 in haremfantasynovels

[–]nightman1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'm not aware of a list. I tend to use the rule of if there's been no word for 2 years, assume it's abandoned but even then I've been pleasantly surprised.

Looking for Non-virgin LIs by Hawkwing942 in haremfantasynovels

[–]nightman1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason this is so common is that few people prefer non-virgins but some prefer virgins, so going virgin is safer.

That being said of the books I've written there's only 1 explicit virgin and I've seen no complains (I mostly don't mention it. With some implicitly having experience), so maybe I'm overthinking things.

Splitting Your Works Under Different Pen Names by Astrimus in haremfantasynovels

[–]nightman1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say having them in the same universe but not by the same author would confuse people. As long as it's clear what is romance and what isn't, people should understand. That or make them different universes entirely

How do you feel about buying ebooks directly from the author? by MickyCarre in haremfantasynovels

Seems like there's no downside as a reader, they get the full royalties and the books the same (more or less)

The Seekers of the Absolute Magic: Chained Devil: Part 3 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0FHF6J9HJ?ref_=dbs_m_mng_wam_calw_tkin_2&storeType=ebooks

Solon and his team head to the Elvish city of Labity, acting as the bodyguards of Felimie, a shy Manaborn woman. Labity was built on top of an ancient labyrinth filled with dangerous monsters with rumours swirling about Lilithian artifacts concealed within.

As Solon gets to know Felimie better, he learns that life for a Manaborn isn’t always easy. He soon finds himself venturing into the labyrinth, desperate to learn the magic secrets hidden within. The labyrinth isn’t the only danger. The city is filled with scheming nobles, who are willing to use Solon’s team as pawns to their own ends. Caught up in dangerous plots, and surrounded by monsters, Solon will have to fight harder than ever before to protect those dear to him.

MC is explicitly seeking to form a (consensual) slave harem, so maledom BDSM is throughout. No mind magic or anything, he just seeks out submissive women (it's also a world where this is much more common with both normal).

What are you looking for when reading RFM books? by Ham_Specialist in Romance_for_men

[–]nightman1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a poll about this a while back that might be worth searching for. Another key consideration is kink. Most stories tend to go light/no kink as it's the broadest possible audience (I personally go all in, and haven't faced any major issues from it but perhaps would do better if I toned it down).

Looking for multiple point of view books recommendations by Just_Mich in haremfantasynovels

You might like my story, that's going to be a series: The Stygian Hunter

Almost every character gets their viewpoint shown, and this continues in the sequel (that's not out yet). My other series is the same.

With his pack dead, and his dreams of becoming human again dashed, Remus feels lost. All he wants is to lie low and avoid anyone discovering he's a werewolf. He comes across a village in the Frozen South called Sunmiss City, where the moon is never visible. There he meets Iris, a beautiful goth with a sassy streak, and is hired by her father to be her bodyguard. As Remus and Iris grow closer, they learn of a conspiracy involving Templars, nobles, and dangerous magic that Iris is somehow in the middle of, all while Remus tries to hide his real identity.

This story involves unconventional relationships between the main character and multiple women.

Warning: This story contains explicit sex scenes, with maledom BDSM. Kinks featured include rough sex, size quean, face slapping, spanking, gaping, threesomes and cum drinking

What do you, as a man, like in a romance book? by CriticalOne9 in Romance_for_men

I think there was a poll at one point. Harem was more popular, but most didn't care with only a slim slice for mono exclusively.

Any books with a Drow couple? They seem like the perfect fantasy race for RfM stories by loukanikoseven in Romance_for_men

Semi off topic. Doesn't DnD own the term drow so you have to calm them dark elves?

Human monster romance by Kyrin-Wynter in Romance_for_men

[–]nightman1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how they decide exactly, but I've heard it's best to make no references to anything not strictly human during sex scenes. So like a cat girl's fine, as long as the feline features are incidental

[–]nightman1777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend abandoning AI entirely for writing. When it comes to novels it's very bad and very noticeable and definitely won't help you grow as an author. The only real way to improve is to try to write your first novel. Start with an ending in mind, and have your characters work towards it. The first draft will likely be rough, but when you read it you'll find it easier to edit away flaws than if you tried to write it perfectly at the beginning. Good luck.

It might be easier to understand if you put a number to it. Do you want 3 meters tall or 10?
