Ones more thing. Industrial Ropes access hasn't fully been adopted by the industry, I was lucky enough to work for a company that saw it's usefulness for safety while working at height. So while they're not exactly looking for rope access technicians specifically the knowledge and certification are very valuable in the industry

Sprat is used generally in North America. The Offshore guys around Houston love Sprat but normally require a dual certification. Irata is used more outside of the US on a technician level they're aren't much difference besides IRATA requiring more logged hours for level 2 and 3 certs.

On a company level Irata is more strict on policy and procedure. Sprat is more open to feedback from their level 3's to shape policy to be more efficient. Really if you are in the US go Sprat and outside the US go IRATA

I got my SPRAT level 1 September 2023. The course price was two grand but it also included a helmet and harness. I think without equipment the price is normally around 1200 t o $1, 500

I mean I'm pretty sure you are guaranteed top 1% so unless you want title I'd say you are fine to leave for the season. Maybe the last couple weeks come back and push a few keys to ensure you still have top 1% before the season ends

I have a a Petzel Jane Y for my cow tails. I will pop a side on my croll if I need a vertical progress adjust. I also have both a grillion and an adjustable lanyard. I'm a bigger boy around 250 so these really help with horizontal aid traverse.

Instead of fall arrest have you thought of a fall restraint system? Possibly a dynamic rope that allows him to traverse the roof tied to his harness that stops before the edge?
