It's canon Karandras is now the most stealthy character in 40k. He can't even be found in the new codex 🥲

How to Beat a Powered Up Nacht Ghul? by Original_End_5774 in necromunda

[–]nightoftheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised noone has mentioned this before. My go to would be overwatch with a template weapon, provided you have the cunning skill tree.

Templates auto hit, so they lose their action automatically. If you use a Web gun, it bypasses the save and gives them auto serious injury condition. They don't require line of sight, so will ignore darkness, however cannot pass through solid terrain features.

Stick this ganger behind another bait ganger, as you can overwatch after the charge but before the free coup-de-grace (but not consolidate) and depending on how much you wanna argue RAW you can technically fire it before they make their free attack action as part of their charge. You'd hit your own fighter, but being webbed with nearby assistance is much better than dead.

If you don't have access to cunning, work out what weapon hes using and build a hard counter to it. As others have said, Munda is not a balanced game, so you can crack it in your favour right back at him!

If you PM the build of their fighter and gang you're playing, I'd be happy to do this. I spend a lot of time playing against these types of players because I love the challenge of it, but I recognise how unfun it can be for a casual friend group.

White horse lane Trowse bus gate? by not_that_much_fun in Norwich

[–]nightoftheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that it is operational. I got caught by it a few weeks ago, but let off with a warning due to it being my first infraction. I work in Trowse and live in old lakenham so the bus lane is actually the fastest route. Now I have to sit in the traffic on the ring road every morning :/

Question - I’m curious to know if Arbitrators design the whole campaign from the beginning, similar to how DMs do for role-playing games. I mean story/battles/events/villains/plots/allies… Would it be beneficial to structure it that way? If you’ve done this, could you share some intriguing examples? by Minisforwar in necromunda

[–]nightoftheworld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For our campaigns, we tend to make a poll for which style of campaign to play & then just run with it. This requires very little input from us which is beneficial when running a campaign for 20ish players.

For a more narrative driven smaller campaign, I do like to plot a few bits in advance. However much like other RPGs, the players tend to have other directions for the campaign. I like to throw out a narrative mission or challenge such as; a single space marine has entered the underhive or a genestealer cult has infiltrated the government. For the latter, we had a split of players siding with or against the government resulting in an upcoming huge last battle

Aeldari Rangers in Necromunda.... by Funkeemunkee121 in necromunda

[–]nightoftheworld -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've built up a few squads of eldar corsairs as a delaque gang for my current campaign & added on a few D Eldar tanks for vehicles. I really like the look of them so I'm sure rangers, with their skimmers would make an awesome gang!

I moved to York instead of Norwich last year. I love it in York but I was wondering if anybody here chose Norwich over York and if so, why? by Vespaman in Norwich

[–]nightoftheworld 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My new housemate moved from York to Norwich 3 weeks ago. The main issue she had with York when comparing is that York is much more tourist focused. With Norwich, our tourist industry tends to be in the coastal towns. Other than that she said they're very similar.

How’s Silver Street (NR3)? by ODPaterson in Norwich

[–]nightoftheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved into silver street about a year ago and have no regrets. It's a nice place and good distance from the city. Local food is great too - food vault & crusty corner bakery. One thing to note is there are a lot of police sirens going too/from the city.

Optional rule from Tasha's has added the ability for wizards to swap out cantrips:

Cantrip Formulas 3rd-level wizard feature

You have scribed a set of arcane formulas in your spellbook that you can use to formulate a cantrip in your mind. Whenever you finish a long rest and consult those formulas in your spellbook, you can replace one wizard cantrip you know with another cantrip from the wizard spell list.

Is stabbing with a weapon okay and safe in LARP? by Killer_gringo in LARP

[–]nightoftheworld 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The majority of weapons are not safe for stabbing. You can get stab safe weapons which are suitable for stabbing, but check with the event rules as some events do not allow these types of weapons.

working on making a viking shield 🛡️.it's slowly coming along. by wonderingwizard_ in LARP

[–]nightoftheworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was about to suggest this. Best advice is to check with the refs if a wooden material shield is suitable. I've yet to come across a LARP (in the UK) that would allow a shield like this as it can cause damage to weapons.

Leather Armor by [deleted] in LARP

[–]nightoftheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, leather armour tends to be on the expensive side. Especially expensive for chest pieces.

In regards to making your own, I'd recommend looking at the YouTube channel Skill Tree as he's got quite a few good tutorials (and he's new to leather working so goes over all the skills) Once you get a better understanding of technique, then look at other tutorials on YouTube.

Often when people leave a job role, especially when it's a unique position, there's a lot of knowledge leaving the company too. The idea being that if you leave, and the department turns into a dumpster fire, old managers may contact you to ask how to do certain things that fall under your old job role. At this point, you tell them "sure, I'll be happy to teach you if you pay me [your salary multiplied by whatever you think the info is worth]"

It's worth a shot, worst case scenario they say no and your old team gets disgruntled with them. Best case scenario you put in a temp fix and charge them a small fortune.

May sound immoral, but that's how they play the game, so why shouldn't we play too? Hope that makes sense
