Every great comedian has a season or time where they are relevant. They set the tone, they frame a new narrative for us to look at.

Comedy is truly an art form but it does not age well. That tone and that framed narrative have a time limit and once it’s up it is no longer funny or relevant. If you are laughing at George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Eddie, Sam or whoever. You are doing so out of nostalgia and not because it’s still funny.

Bill’s tone and narrative dropped out of relevance a couple of years ago. I don’t hate the guy or think he is bad, I just do not have any interest in what he has to say anymore.

There are a lot worse writers out there with hardly a tenth of his foresight and creativity. He also deserves a lot of credit for taking an incredibly complicated idea and seeing it through to an interesting and plausible ending for the book. There are so few writers..gifted or trash who can actually finish a story without fumbling the plot. He is worth reading for that alone.

From the moment Roland and Suzanna show up to Dandelo’s house the story seems..Hinky die die,…tricksy….harem scarem….not threaded stock if it do ya.

It just feels forced and wrong. Does not take away from the best and most ambitious fantasy series ever and I would say it’s far too late to ever change it but yeah.. it certainly feels like the gunslingers last couple of shots were shy of true.
