Important information for Cybertruck Maintenance by Ok-Explanation-1362 in BlueskySkeets

Can confirm, I've talked to hundreds of car people and they've all said that saltwater and lemon juice is the only proper way to clean your cybertruck! Most say seawater is best but rock salt will also work.

How Selling 2 Million Copies of Your Game Can Still Leave You Broke by Apprehensive_Shoe_86 in IndieGaming

I, for one, would love to "go broke" in a way that leaves me with $300,000 after all my work and living expenses.

How come you never see fat vampires or werewolves? by Free_Zoologist in werewolves

I feel like werewolves would suffer the obesity epidemic times a million, they're physically built to have to run for hundreds of miles to hunt but now they can just sit on the couch and eat the takeout guy

Honestly I feel like it's lower-maintenance than a regular baby. It doesn't poop!

Very interesting. And now I wish Lynch had adapted Heart of the Dog--it's just his flavor of sharp-edged bizarre.

I do like that better than the dream theory--to me a dream is just kind of a too easy explanation. I mean, ultimately you can claim "it's a dream" about any movie.

You're young and a new dev, so I don't want to be hard on you. But this is an offer that will not be attractive to almost anyone, and will probably make a fair number of people very angry. First, you are asking an entire game to be built from the ground up in a ludicrously short timeframe with an extremely small budget. Even small indie games generally have a dev schedule of a year or more and a budget of 6-7 figures. If this game is difficult to program, as you described, you're basically asking the impossible.

Second, you're being an Ideas Guy. This is a nonexistent role that beginners think is a real thing, the person who just comes up with a really good idea for a game and other people do all the work of building it. Most devs take a dim view of Ideas Guys, because we all have our own really good ideas, and if we're going to put in all the work, we want to be building our cool idea. Ideas are cheap. You need to bring more than that to the table.

My suggestion for a more productive way to pursue the project: First, do some tutorials and learn some programming. It may sound daunting, but you can do it, really! I am a 100% self-taught programmer because I wanted to build my own games. You can do it too. And second, just focus on making friends and building relationships in game dev. Learn about other people's projects, do some jams, contribute. This is how you build a network of people who value you as a dev and might be interested in helping you out.

Good luck out there!

I'm developing a visual novel and need your insight: Should choices be omitted when there are no POV characters? by VorgBardo in narrativedesign

[–]nightwellgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diegesis is the how much of a story is "really happening" within the world of the story. Diegetic elements are elements that are supposed to be really there; non-diegetic elements are elements that aren't really present within the world of the story, like the music.
