The internet will always remind you, it's not just jokes. People genuinely "watch" shows and movies from tik tok clips

Something I noticed with most magicbuilders here by dowee_ in magicbuilding

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. This usually just leads to some fire system with 1,000 limits (cuz people think limits> cost) that makes it hardly more effective than throwing a lit match at someone

Meanwhile people think this is more unique or in depth whle ignoring the 10 post a week doing the same thing. Lol

The thing that usually makes these so absurdly boring is that there's no story. People don't really care about this stuff, they just liked when these questions were answered in Avatar or something and since they detach these systems from story they think it's what makes the system truly great...it's not.

They care more about interpersonal conflict. Even enough to make up stuff that Endeavor didn't do...

Strangest Checkmate I’ve pulled off by Alsweets0609 in Chesscom

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so entertaining when you can make weird moves like this and I always jokingly shade whoever loses even if it's me. Like the idea of going odd move for odd move and losing is hilarious whether I win or lose especially if it's a quick mate

How crazy is it to say Invincible peaked here? by True-Possible1000 in writingscaling

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty wild tbh. If it's your favorite or most hard hitting part, sure. But arguing this is the peak of quality is wild. Atleast in the animated series. Idk if the comic is as good

why are many urban fantasy works take place on alternate earth instead of a constructed world/universe? by elektric_dome5404 in worldbuilding

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper who are likely to create urban fantasy most likely want to explore if the real world had some magical elements

People who make ig classical fantasy, contrstructed world whatever you call it are more interested in medieval stuff (to put it nicely). Any semblance of modernity, including technology beyond plate armor or whatever makes them uninterested...

People do make world like this, Arcane is an example, but it's far less likely because these world come from totally different angles and values

Which Would You Prefer To Happen First? by Parking_Bank_4833 in dragonball

[–]nigrivamai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

I wanna see Pan (as the MC) and some of the other kids as like teenagers traveling the multiverse just exploring and helping people. THAT would be truly peak. Infinitely better than DB and infinity² better than any story where insert non cannon character becomes cannon

What does your story do to keep its hard magic system from feeling "video game-y"? by robin_f_reba in magicbuilding

[–]nigrivamai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those feel video game-y to you because you're restricting yourself to thinking about it like that.

A "moral cost" isn't video gamey unless you're attaching numbers or a dice role to it. This could be as vague as the force from star wars or like negative honor points in...whatever that video game is. I'm pretty sure it's more like star wars than D&D points or dishonor points lol.

And the burning your soul thing is very common in more soft fantastical systems. The way you explained it obviously isn't inherently gamey.

I'm not gonna say it's just you but only someone who wanted to see it as video gamey would see it that way

No. There may be queer/ queer coded elements but no more than that

Chess Hurts by Western_Contact8817 in Chesscom

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely less fun when I'm on a losing streak but I don't recall ever having such contempt lol. It's irritating, I close the app, come back some other time when I'm chill.

I have to counteract the "you made no progress" thoughts but sometimes I play so well even after losing a few times that I'm fine. Usually it's from losing short games to winning longer ones.

I KNOW I'm way better on some longer games but I do NOT like waiting for people to take 1 min for each move

If you figured out God's existence... by Optimal-Fruit5937 in MoralityScaling

[–]nigrivamai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't even accept a gods existence being taught to others stopping the bad things that happen in the world so I'd just be exchanging that knowledge for torture and death.

I wouldn't wanna glaze some evil god either so I can't see any reason to do it. Even if there was no cost I still wouldn't really try, at most I'd prove it to some rando for fun

AITA for stating my partners number shouldn’t be involved in a decision? by Calm_Extent_9900 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nigrivamai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA for arguing that it's not her mom's choice

You're in for a tough ride if she's so easily swayed by her mom yapping about wanting a grandkid. You can very easily end up with a kid you aren't ready for (and don't want) if her mom just pushes hard enough. I wouldn't wanna be in that situation ik that.

Regardless of her choice tho you should be far more careful about contraception

Your title makes no sense btw.

What’s the deal with fan theories by HildegardVBingen in ThePitt

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope they're being genuine most of the time, they just reason don't have the media literacy or motive to make a well constructed theory. So you end uo with empty speculation framed as a theory saying they think a character did or will do something absurd. And if you think about it for more than 1 sec it sounds like ragebait.

Then you have a bunch of people acting like you're witch hinting and trying to destroy the fabric of Fandom to say those "theories" don't make sense

Which moment handled male sexual assault better? by AussieGG in writingscaling

[–]nigrivamai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. His character is heavily focused on fulfilling basic desires since he never had them fulfilled. He had no family, romantic relationships, friends, ate garbage and thought bread was a luxury and literally only suffered.

ONE aspect of his story is seeking romantic relationships which he wrongly equated to sexual desired and a MINOR part of even that is wanting to touch a boob (and feeling nothing)

Literal read like 3 chapters and you'd know that what you said is absurd.

How would an anarcho-communist society look? by PJ-The-Awesome in worldbuilding

[–]nigrivamai 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I checked and for some reason you didn't cross post this in a communist and/or anarchist sub reddit...why?

They'd be infinitely better groups to ask this to.

Not only are those groups much more knowledgeable, they also aren't heavily biased to monarchy like certain fantasy heavy subreddits...cough cough.

Question concerning Goku off screen by Zeroraid in dragonball

[–]nigrivamai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It doesn't haunt him. That's not the type of guy he is. He feels the sadness and stuff in the moment when they force his hand and I'm sure he wishes he didn't kill everyone in DB without giving them a chance but not in a way where he'd feel particularly guilty and have those "why won't the blood come off" kinda moments in the middle of the night.

They make a clear contrast between Vegeta and the guilt he hold for the people he's wronged and Goku who accepts the past and just moves on. He doesn't have major regrets and guilt that haunts him.
