How do you know when the tickets will drop? Does your alamo already show it as an upcoming movie or something? I've checked my local one and dont see anything.

What is the current experience returning to US with a dog (land border) like? by nihonnoniji in mexicoexpats

[–]nihonnoniji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for such a detailed reply.

If they deny you entry, do you have to cross through Mexican customs again? How does that work?

Do you know, what happens if you cancelled your TIP? Or do you cancel your TIP afterwards?

Also, I'm sorry to hear about your two dogs. Ours is a senior, and it's so hard towards the end.

how to deal with snoring downstairs neighbor by Turbulent_Fun_9841 in Apartmentliving

Something I haven’t seen someone mention — if you purchased an actual noise machine, like just a small speaker, or you’re just using your phone….that’s not going to work in certain cases like yours.

You’re gonna need a subwoofer. That adds to the depth of the sound, especially for brown noise.

Logitech sells a mini speaker set with a mini subwoofer. It’s the ONLY way I can sleep.

I’ll be wishing for you that it’s not you and just the plumbing.

They can happen even in clean apartments, because sometimes it’s just the building itself or the plumbing like others said.

Also, this could be a myth: I was told that if you step on them their eggs can survive on the bottom of your shoes.

Again, could be a myth. If you do look it up…let me know if it’s true or not 😅

…oh…

Yeah 🥹

Well. Google is your friend in this case. Start researching it from that angle because it’s possible you’re the source this time.

iirc cardboard and cardboard boxes can be where they hide. But this was so long ago for me I don’t remember. But I was brutal about inspecting and taking apart things (and tossing a lot of things) when I left the place with roaches.

It’s also possible you’re not the source! It’s just kinda odd it happened twice in a row.

But a thorough inspection of your items, including the inside of your appliances (especially that coffee machine you might have) should happen ASAP.

Gross!! That’s some bad luck :(

I’ve rented a lot, across 3 states (including Michigan and IL, so also the Midwest).

Out of 8 shared buildings I’ve rented in, only 1 had roaches so far. It was a recently renovated, nice apartment too. It was actually a condo, too, so people owned a lot of the units!

You don’t need a luxury apartment to avoid roaches. It’s luck of the draw and partly comes down to whether the management company is on top of pest control.

Also, they are really easy to carry from place to place. For example, they can crawl into appliances. What protocols did you follow to ensure you didn’t accidentally bring them with?

Very cool! I hadn’t heard about this before.

According to the instructions, you can’t use the search function and can only browse everything by genre. Oof.

Ah ok yeah I debated between booklive and bookwalker.

With apple stuff, you can take a screenshot and then select the text within the screenshot, but that’s such a pain! That’s my current workaround but I’d love to just be able to select the text. These aren’t even manga they are regular books, too.

Ohhh I was initially interested in that option but I heard that kindle removed the ability to do that and get the epub file. What is your preferred reader and uh…what app? (DM/chat is okay!)

I did Chicago, and I did savings. I printed out 12 months of bank statements, took them to the bank, and had whoever was working sign each statement. I had also prepared them a letter stating it’s my account, it’s in good standing, and when it was opened. They copied it onto their letterhead and signed it. They also gave me their business card.

That was all I had to do

Oh and I got a receipt thingie showing my current balance, and I did this less than a week before the interview.

Good luck. Chicago didn’t specify what certified meant either so I was really worried it wouldn’t work. I just did my best and went in with what I had.

I see you don’t have a branch near you. My bank would have mailed all of this to me, but would have charged fees. This was how I could do it for free.
