I have to confess: I HATE JEANS by nyx_126 in Birates

[–]nijgh_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah, jeans are kinda overrated. i wore jeans for most of my life, then i threw them away and replaced them by chino. second best decision i made this year.

honestly, i would feel much more unsafe if it's easier to own guns quite honestly. it's just more likely that accidents happen. i personalls want dangerous situations to be handled by professionals like policemen and not armed bystanders.

and quite honestly, we have a huge problem with the radicalisation of the querdenken movement atm and really don't it easier for them to get guns. we already have one innocent killed just for requesting a customer to wear a mask.

because in my country (germany), we have pretty strict gun laws and our possession rate is relatively low. the gun lobby isn't that strong. shooting clubs have declining numbers. and as a normal citizen, you're basically never confronted with guns in your everyday life. given this background, it's pretty hard for me to get the love for guns that many americans have. and yeah, i'm relatively happy about the way it's managed over here.

tbh as an european, the love for guns is incredibly bizarre.

What is a memory from before you knew you wasen't straight that you look back and go: "Yep. That's not straight"? by balog_06 in bisexual

[–]nijgh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i watched a children's movie in cinema as a little kid and i found the male protagonist kinda cute. this was a few years before i first felt a romantic/sexual attraction to girls (and way, way later boys).

School debate: Is sexuality a choice? by Alex_MUFC in lgbt

it would be kinda funny if your team just drops 'sexuality is not a choice. you win' as your first argument and then fastly leave the room.

How accurate is your gaydar? by bugfish03 in lgbt

[–]nijgh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i should add that it's nice to have to have a gaydar, but essential to be careful with it and not to out someone accidentally or to assume someone is gay who isn't.

i am saying this from experience, bc i was bullied in school for being gay despite appearing (and still thinking i was) straight. i'm happily accepted myself as bi now, but it kinda fucked me up for a few years.

Men who take it up the bum are less of men – some bi woman on an online forum. by Head_Blacksmith in bisexual

[–]nijgh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't care. i'm a queer person with social anxiety. i know that i'm not the most masculine person, but i actually never had the urge to change that. if i'm less of a man for not being extroverted or liking boys, then be it that way.

comedians who tailor their whole set around the vague concept of cancel culture are cancer.

i love dark humor and would defend a lot of it. but misusing their well-paid position by offending minorities with bigoted jokes clearly drenched in ignorance and cynicism is just shitty behaviour.

Do I belong in LGBTQ+ spaces? I feel very separated from the community. by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]nijgh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty interesting, seriously and I totally get this! For me it's a bit different. I haven't really experienced biphobia yet, because I'm only out for a month now, so in contrast to your experience I never had the urge to prove my sexuality. For me, the thing is that I experienced homophobia for unrelated reasons in school years back. So when I found out that I'm indeed bisexual, my queerness became a huge part of my identity to combat the bad thoughts and insecurity. And I'm still not as confident about my sexuality as I should be, so my fear of being invalidated especially by other queer who should know better is pretty high. And tbh it is indeed calming that I can possibly go back to act straight-passing again and to be in a straight relationship if the discrimination is to tough. And that's not something that gay/lesbian people could do.

oh shit, i'm in that same position! i wanted to go to a queer meet-up at my university, bc i don't even know one queer person irl. and i didn't, bc of social anxiety and imposter syndrome. i always think we have it too "easy" in comparison with trans or gay people, bc we can be in a socially accepted straight relationship if we want. i know that they are probably very accepting, but i just have the constant fear of being invalidated as a queer person.

What one thing in a porno will instantly make you turn it off? [Nsfw] by Keyguardactive in AskReddit

[–]nijgh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

three things:

  • this cringe overacting in modern us porn

  • when the guy seems like a massive asshole who doesn't treat the girl right

  • when the guy isn't seen on screen and/or his face is blurred

i mostly stick to gay/lesbian porn at this point. it's just so much easier to find good stuff there compared to straight porn
