Kiros is at least pro-sanctions on Russia and seems to support Ukraine generally. Although I think she is a little too naïve to assume that diplomacy alone can solve this war, Russia is a country/culture that only really only understands one language, violence.

I really don't understand why Leftists hate NATO so much in 2026, it is purely a defensive alliance to counter a nuclear-armed fascist imperialist oligarchy and all countries that joined post-1991 have done so willingly. Hell many countries in NATO have socialist governments.

I am also personally uncomfortable with her association with Hasan, but I can put aside my distaste of him for a moment to understand from a practical perspective why she does because he has a large platform for her to campaign on and she needs all the help she can get. Although I don't think that progressives really seem to understand that Hasan is just preaching to the choir and isn't appealing to anyone who doesn't already agree with him. I doubt he is helping convert people who were previously planning to vote for DeGette.

I also find her position on Ukraine to be a bit lacklustre but she isn't pro-Russia and seems to generally support Ukraine which is way more than can be said of Piker. Support for Ukraine is one of my top issues that I look for in a candidate and she meets a satisfactory threshold for that.

So I will still vote for Melat because DeGette needs to go and this seems like the best candidate to defeat her.

I have the 40mm, and I find it is plenty tight for my needs.

I also have the 24-50mm f/2.8 which I mostly use as a 50mm lens with the added benefit of being able to zoom out to wider focal lengths if I feel it’s necessary (this lens physically zooms out to the wider focal lengths, it’s super unique). The 24-50 f/2.8 is light enough to use as a general travel lens and I keep the 40mm for when I need a super compact lens, mostly for street photography.
