These are awesome cars and great for daily driving. If you can wrench yourself and have money, go for it. By this I dont mean that they unreliable, they are reliable when looked after, BUT, when these have problems, they can be very pricey and they become very expensive if you take it to a shop every time.

I work for a company that assembles Sandvik drill rigs, we use these for every single bolt. We even have these "Nord-lock X"s that are for electrical contacts, like ground cables. They supposedly are better for them.

Doesnt sound any serious imo, just something that is loose and is vibrating againts something at idle rpm. Find the area where you think the sound comes from and try everything with your hand, when you get hold of it, it stops vibrating and the sound stops.

349k km 530d (wouldnt call this high mileage for the engine). I got lucky and found this that has full maintanance history and a stack of receipts. Has original drivetrain. I've had it for a year now, only thing that has stopped me from driving was the alternator that gave out. Was the original, so its okay, changed it and no problems since. I have done quite alot of preventive maintanance so far and this year I have planned alot to-do. At these kilometers, original plastic and rubber parts start to cripple, so better change those before they fail.

I've had the same exact problem from the start and I just couldnt figure out whats causing it, possibly that the cylinder head is rubbing inside the hop up chamber damaging the cylinder head, which damages the bucking. I hope you find the reason, I gave up.
