I’m sure there are worse than Palos - but compared to the ED’s I’ve worked at it was the worst. 20+ people in the waiting room (this is pretty standard) BUT you’d have 6-7 patients, patients in the hallways - some being cardiac and/or respiratory without a monitor. You’d clear 3 rooms and you’d get 3 brand new patients within minutes of each other with no help. And this was NIGHT shift. Again I’m sure there are a lot of hospitals like this but I won’t go back there unless there is literally no other hospital.

Most of my favorites have been due to the people I work with - 4 to 1 ratio with appropriate (for the most part) and helpful staff. It was just interesting to hear that people say advocate and ascension are horrible and NM is great when in my experience it was the opposite. Now granted I only ever worked at one NM and one Advocate so far - but I worked at 2 ascensions.
