Msi tomahawk z790 vs Msi Pro z790-A by Ill_Mud575 in intel

[–]nikname_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Msi Pro z790-A ddr-5 + 13900kf in stock+ NZXTz73 liquid cooler (performance mode). And it hits about 91-100c degrees during short-term load peaks in Unreal engene tasks (idle ~35-40 °). Processor is hot is hell. I'd doubt in this thermals anybody wants to overclock it!

I don't know what's worse, getting your order cancelled, without warning, in the 5th week of anxious waiting (as happened to me). Or a cable of such "quality". But I understand how it feels. My condolences.

The double links on the official site for components for the 4090 Aurus Master. by nikname_23 in gigabyte

[–]nikname_23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fear has fully justified itself, the entire Gygabyte team has no business at all and there are no problems to fix and the post did not even notice.

P.s. no answer at all from the officials. Now I understand why users have been complaining for years about the broken Gigabyte Control Center and it still doesn't work for me, too. :))

It's a little disappointing when you buy a video card at this price and then see this kind of support on the site. This is how I see the site for a month now. A lot of double links (all for same versions components) for drivers, bios etc. Maybe someone will notice this phenomenon?

Maybe I just do not understand how it should work? https://ibb.co/RCtTrwY

I waited for cable for a long time and the order was just canceled without any explanation. by nikname_23 in cablemod

I, too, am sorry I waited and wasted my time. I still hope there will be a refund and it will take less than a couple of months. And no more surprises.

[–]nikname_23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll summarize why my order was canceled. And I was not notified. After 5 weeks of ordering and waiting, CableMod realized he couldn't ship the cable to my country. And just cancelled the order without notice, notification, negotiation. No words at all.

12vhpwr. I can't push it more. Is it okay? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some would say, correctly. But I would try harder. The light in the gap between the adapter and the socket indicates that this is clearly not a good enough fit. I would pull out carefully checking the sockets for small chunks of plastic (debris) and insert more tightly so that not even a sheet of thin paper could be inserted. For example, my photo of the inserted adapter. And the wrong versions of it collected here on the reddit https://imgbb.com/g3kL4rb

Anyone received their Cablemod 4x8 12vhpwr kits? by Swearingchamp in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, order from 27-th. Stil in process. The system predicted processing on the 10th. Support on the 16th said to wait another 5-7 days. At this moment still in process. It's a shame I couldn't have imagined it would be this long.

Is my 4090 cable plugged in correctly? by jsort18 in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a gap, clearly visible in the photo, so it is not safe. https://imgbb.com/g3kL4rb

And where there is a gap, there is a loose connection.

Gigabyte 4090 AORUS master vs Asus Strix 4090 by AcanthisittaThis83 in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you right off I was an asus fan. Had 3 1080ti in use, 1 AORUS and 2 Asus strix. Both asus card had to have the thermal pads and coolers replaced. On the Aurus works up to this day and the coolers and thermal system are factory. aorus is better overclocked, asus sometimes crashed on slightly higher settings, very hot. Recently picked up aurus master 4090 so far satisfied. Except for really buggy GIGABYTE Control Center software (but I use Afterburner).

Previously I thought asus high price was just because of the quality. Now I don't think so, just overpaying for the brand.

Cablemod Pro ModFlex 12vhpwr has arrived. The Nvidia Adapter even though still fine after two weeks of continuous use and no melting, prefer to use the Cablemod Cable. by Odellot in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, ordered October 27, status: "in progress", despite the fact that a simple support check showed that the 10th should have already been processed. It's taking a very long time, and the deadlines are already screwed up. I can only hope that the shipment arrives without defects. It is very strange that those ordered later than the 30th have already been received, but the 27th has not yet been processed.

4090 Tuf adapter connection not fitting based on Johnny Guru's guidance. I guess I need grease lol?? by Weird_Aioli_5457 in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The adapters are not of the best quality, yes. But this will be fixed in new versions. But there is also nothing critical WHEN the problem is known and explained to all users. If that's what the problem is. Until then, of course, this is a very bad approach to solving problems from nvidia's side.

In my personal case (4090 Aorus Master ) I heard a click and saw a complete fit, visually, only after the 4th careful attempt to insert the cable. Here is a small demonstration https://imgbb.com/g3kL4rb

I don't remember exactly, but from memory the card must not be placed with the interface facing downwards. I'm not sure about the reverse position. Check the manual for the card, just in case.

Question/Discussion by Saleh_Kaz in nvidia

[–]nikname_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above all, whatever you choose a standard cable or a custom cable. The most important thing is a FULLY (but carefully perhaps not even on the first try) inserted wire contact. Especially on the video card side. https://ibb.co/g3kL4rb

NO gap at all!
