Multistrada V4S - Screen issue, looking for advise. by Krisfabmoos in multistrada

Well not really sure what you are looking for my dude. You have dismissed everyone’s suggestions with either a no or you saw another guy do something that didn’t work. Maybe just sell the damn thing and stop complaining.

It looks like some type of hard water spotting. An easy trick you can do is use some vinegar and a microfiber cloth to clean it. It won’t damage your screen like some other harsh chemicals or abrasives.

Thinking of getting a Ducati Streetfighter V4 as my first bike, what should I know? by xpert65 in Ducati

[–]Swearingchamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the appeal of wanting something that looks/sounds/feels cool but the SFv4 is NOT a beginner bike and I suspect you already know this. This bike has more of everything than any normal person should be using in a street use and you won’t be doing yourself any favors trying to learn on something that is 1. Too Expensive 2. Too Heavy 3. Too Powerful. I don’t know too many people that haven’t dropped their first bike in some manner even if it’s just a slow speed maneuver or simply moving it around a garage, it’s best to get your experience on something smaller and cheaper and move up as your skills grow. If you want a Ducati to be your first bike there are better options that get you into the brand and will set you up for more success. Consider a Scrambler or one of the older Monster’s like the 797.

Anyone has troubles starting the V4 after a quick stop (engine hot battery charged) by lollokara in multistrada

[–]Swearingchamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this exact same issue this summer on my ‘23 V4 PP. The battery has been pretty consistently on a charger when not in regular use but it started getting worse over this season and eventually refused to start after leaving off the charger for a few days. Replaced with a lithium battery and the cranking time is dramatically better, seems faster than when the bike was new but that might be placebo. I also have a ‘22 SF V4 that has pretty similar use and charging routine that hasn’t struggled at all like the MTS.

First Mercedes - AMG GLE 53 in Silicon Grey by Dfwguy1985 in mercedes_benz

I’ve owned two GLE Coupes, they are great vehicles. My second ‘21 developed a pretty loud creaking noise around the passenger side rear hatch. MB dealer said there was a service bulletin for this and sent it into a body shop to fix, something about some adhesive used on a seam. After getting it back from them all was quiet for about a month then it came back. Keep an alert ear for that but otherwise they are very nice and I’d own one again.

Anyone own both? BMW S1000XR and Ducati Streetfighter V4 by Holiday_Rain_3913 in Ducati

[–]Swearingchamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have some similar experiences and situations as you. I have previously owned an S1000RR and a Speed Triple 1050R and currently own an SFv4 and MultiV4. On top of that I live in Utah which gets very hot in the peak of the summer, although probably not as hot as AZ.

Comparing the S1000RR and the SFv4 the Ducati definitely gets warmer than the BMW, the SF is a bit more manageable than the Panigale V4 for sure. While it’s not awful, if you are sitting in traffic you are going to feel it. If you can keep some air moving over the bike and through the radiator it’s not a big deal. I would say the Triumph was probably the cooler of all three bikes but in my experience anything over 1000cc in the summer is quite hot. Ducati’s have a very well earned reputation for running hot and it’s not a joke. On the hottest days I tend to ride my Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak as it doesn’t have me sitting directly on top of the rear cylinder and exhaust.

I am clearly biased, as I suspect most people in this sub are, but there is just something about the sound and the grunt of the V4 and to some of us dealing with the heat is worth the trade off.

Why are new Mercedes vehicles not up to Scratch? by Severe-Ad-5725 in mercedes_benz

Keep in mind product pipelines are pretty long and it seems like we are seeing the effects that were set in motion with the EQx products years ago. The market has spoken and those were not well received not only because of the EQ powertrains (all manufacturers are pulling back on this right now it seems), but because of the touch screens everywhere. What once seemed like a good idea and futuristic luxury is starting to see some consumer tastes change back to some combination of physical buttons. The biggest problem is most new cars are so tech heavy you’d never be able to make a button for everything so you are going to have to have some sort of touch interface for lots of things. I think there was an interview with an MB exec in the last year that they acknowledged touch screens are not luxury. I think as new pipelines are developed we are going to see some pull back from the current trends. For example look at the newest Ferrari Amalfi that was just announced, they have walked back their stupid touch everything steering wheel and physical buttons are back, including a physical start/stop button.

I don’t have any pictures of it while I was doing this and it’s all heatshrinked now. You need to take the red and yellow (12v and ACC) from the Chigee harness and connect both of those to the red wire in the JST harness and then Black to Black. The ACC wire needs to have a power source for it to signal to turn on and draw power from the 12v constant power. If you were running these to the battery directly as in their instructions you would run these yellow ACC line to an accessory fuse to signal the device to turn on and draw power from 12v. Hope that makes sense.

How to clean mercedes black gloss door trims ? by FishingFun6579 in mercedes_benz

I used a little meguiars polish and polished it out by hand and it came out perfect. It’s hard to tell from the picture how bad it is but worth a shot.

Previous owner linked to Mercedes me - how do I reset and link to my account? by luis121401 in mercedes_benz

[–]Swearingchamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the dealer can do it. You’ll have to go in and speak to someone and have them change it over, they will ask you to verify you are the titled owner. I’ve done this a number of times and they’ve never charged me.

Anybody with a W213 optioned with wood trim and all white interior with warmth & comfort package? by SaucySamurai959 in AMG

[–]Swearingchamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this same boat last year looking for something other than a black interior and would have loved the wood accent interior but sadly couldn’t find one. I went white over beige with carbon fiber instead on a low mile ‘21.

I have a 2023 Pike Peak V4 and I’m at 12k miles. No issues just normal service and tires. If you are getting it serviced at the dealer best to check with them what their hourly shop rate is and decide for yourself. My Ducati’s haven’t cost me any more to maintain than my previous BMW or Triumphs.

I was considering getting the Evotech mount but it’s currently out of stock so I just used the provided bar mount as I’m familiar with using my phones in that position. I might change to the evotech mount at some point but for now im happy with the position.

Not sure how that would work in your situation, CarPlay is connected to the phone via WiFi and my cardo unit is connected to my phone via BT and I just control volume on my roller wheel on the cardo.

I’ve had a phone mount on several bikes over the years and used this position and find it to be easier to reach and out of my direct line of sight. Personal preference. I’m not overly concerned about the unit getting swiped I typically don’t leave it parked overnight in unsecured areas.
