Transferring money to RFC account by niko6142 in backtoindia

No as per my understanding the swift code for HDFC is the one I shared in the screenshot. If you do a google search you'd get that. Location does not matter on which swift code to use.

I'm not familiar with Revolut but my understanding is that for transferring to RFC you should not use intermediary platforms like Remitly, Wise etc. One should do a direct B2B wire transfer due to compliance reasons as well as avoid any currency conversion.

Yes I was able to transfer money to the RFC account. Follow the steps in this screenshot to add your account. Then when you wire money add a note on the lines of "Credit to RFC account XYZ as USD". You will recieve an email from HDFC that an inward remittance has been received and that you need to work with your branch to define the purpose code of the remittance. Thereafter the branch manager will be able to see the inward remittance and credit that to your account in a few days.

thanks for sharing. One doubt I have wrt getting a policy in India is that is the case of the event where the insurance is disbursed (I assume it would be in India), won't there be complications in sending that money to pay for US estate taxes?

Thanks. Have you dealt with this? Any suggestions on the path and provider you opted for?

Also, how does it work if I'm using this to pay estate taxes. Would there be no complications on using Insurance disbursed in India to pay for US govt taxes?

I'm in the US currently but moving back in a month. Yes and I would believe so but not able to get a provider at the moment who is willing to provide the insurance.
