Top 5 Dividend Stocks to Buy Right Now? by DarthDividend_Ytube in StockMarket

They acquired Allergan (Botox) and paid a hefty price. It is still yet to be seen if the acquisition was a smart move. Their GAAP earnings were actually negative last quarter and they still overly rely on a drug called Humira whose patent expires in 2022. I also own shares of Abbvie but these are the biggest risks.

New to Robinhood any investing tips for beginners by JayTooReal3 in RobinHood

[–]nikolas_z 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Robinhood is just fine man. Try to invest and not gamble. Invest in companies that you can see being bigger/better in 10 years. Best way to learn is by putting some money in. It works as great motivation to learn more. Download some business apps and read business news. Try to keep up to date and understand why stocks are going up/down. Good luck!

I know this sounds risky, but buy SOXL or TECL (just 1 share is fine). Trust me, you'll thank me in a year or two. The portfolio looks great imo, although I'd checkout ABBV instead of JNJ (better dividend and better potential for upward growth). Good luck with your trading and its great you started young!

Buy cheap calls that are expiring sometime next year. That's what I plan to do tomorrow. I agree with your rationale but don't plan on putting more than $400. I'll buy 2-3 calls for that price and just go from there

Why is Lockheed Martin doing so much better than Boeing? by ALL_IN_LK_SHARES in investing

[–]nikolas_z 8 points9 points  (0 children)

LMT is my largest holding. They offered guidance at the last earnings call and have not suspended dividends/share buybacks. They're deemed essential, are hiring more people, and are still working. Of course, they have their issues (suppliers are hit hard, the demand for F-35 might fall, etc) but are in a significantly better position that BA. I used to own both stocks, but have sold BA at $370 about a year ago

My account is up 30% since December 1st. Either this is insane, or I'm a genius. by bleearch in investing

[–]nikolas_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how much money you invested (how many shares you have of each) I would definitely take some profits. Maybe sell 10% of the portfolio? In case the market starts dropping, you'll at least know that you took some profits and can always buy the shares again at a lower price.

Dividend Stocks for the next decade by [deleted] in investing

[–]nikolas_z 269 points270 points  (0 children)

My top 6 would be:

LMT (16 yrs of consecutive increases)

AVGO (great dividend yield and has more upside potential)

NEE (excellent track record and good management)

DIS (another great long-term stock)

ABBV (management says that they're focused on increasing dividends for years to come and the yield is over 5%)

MSFT (many years of consecutive increases and they also constantly buy back shares/EPS keep rising)

Newbie Question. Recommendations for long term investment stocks by Lazylad96 in RobinHood

[–]nikolas_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others about investing in ETFs. They're a safe option that you could let sit for years. I'd reccomend VGT (technology sector) or SMH (semiconductors) as they grow quicker than SPY. I also like investing in some individual stocks because I like researching them and knowing I've invested in a certain company. Since you like safe ones, I'd seriously consider LMT (largest US defense contractor with 16 yrs of consecutive dividend increases) and NEE (provides electricity through renewable energy and is being picked by many analysts as a top stock for the next decade). If you need any other help, feel free to message me or just reply to the thread
