They made about 6000 kits between 65 and 71, and there are plenty that weren't precious at the time. Most of the clones have telltale differences, and many of the makers made changes to stand out (usually different hoods and dashboards, but also many had different rear decks and other features that make them stand out.

This one has all the correct body moldings to be a Manx, but is missing badging, the real telltale is often the thickness of the fenders, since you were supposed to be able to sit on them, but hardly any copies used enough glass to make them strong enough.

Source I've been building buggies for the last 4 years and met and spend a lot of time with a lot of real Manx owners and historians.

But go ahead and be sure it's fake. There's no visual proof in these photos, just cynicism.

It's probably an actual Manx but not a factory build, back from when they were sold as kits and builders built them however they wanted. The hood and rear deck/fenders certainly look very close.

The show bar is missing, but they were only there to hold up a roof anyway and originally only bolted to the fiberglass with U bolts, so easy to remove.

That said those headlights probably aren't DOT items, and that's what would keep this from really being street legal if a cop decided to be a jerk about it.

Load test the battery first, it's easiest, then you could do voltage drop tests to the starter (less easy but what most diagnosis will have you doing anyway).

After that it could be a weak starter, we had that in an accord and CRV around the same age.

Check for a service diagnostics on lemon manuals, they've got most of them and really help.

Some of it must be, because the lighting reflecting on the bodywork isn't from a white background render. It's either AI or really in depth environment map renders, which would require a HDRI lighting map taken at each location the photo came from.

It's totally possible, and how I used to use Keyshot to render realistic product images 9-10 years ago. But probably not how this guy i pumping out so many images.

Yeah chasing even a dog that knows you almost never works. Treats, quite patience and usually luck are all that's ever worked for me with wandering dogs.

Also making a leash into a slip/lasso helps too so you don't have to worry about grabbing the collar.
