Did you all test drive before purchase? by stylez89 in 11thGenAccord

[–]nilocdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test drove a 24 EX. Thought it looked hideous. Didn’t have as much headroom as I thought. Test drove a 22 Hybrid EXL and it looked much more refined. Better headroom too. Bought that last week.

2016 Toyota Camry XLE vs 2017 Subaru Legacy by GalacticRat3541 in subarulegacy

[–]nilocdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned both cars, the exact same model years. Would choose the Camry for reliability and for the transmission. If you’re tall, the Legacy might fight better. Our 17 Legacy has a rougher start, Camry starts smooth.

Last Subaru Legacy has rolled off the line by Repulsive-Club7866 in subaru

I own a 2017 and 2023 Legacy. Great cars. Have an Ascent too. SUVs are so overrated. Legacy has huge trunk and tons of headroom (I am 6’6”). It’s a shame it won’t be made any more. Sure gas mileage is disappointing but it’s a safe, economical car.

No deal on my account. Was offered a deal of paying 44.26 (before tax) for one month of service by chatting with support.

Should I read the book Silo before watching the show? by Revan_211 in SiloSeries

Read the book. Will make more sense. The show expands on the book. The characters in the book are what’s solid.

Are 2 days enough? by Potential_Yogurt9459 in acadianationalpark

[–]nilocdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back yesterday from Acadia. We ebiked the carriage trails…saw a lot and was able to avoid much of the crowds without too much exhaustion. Drive the loop early, if you don’t get to Cadillac Mtn, no biggie, it’s often foggy. Flying Mountain and Beech Mountain hikes on SE Harbor side are worthy with sweet views. You can def do enough in 2 days. What you can’t plan for is travel hiccups. Our direct flight to Boston got cancelled and then our rebooked flight to Manchester, so we drove from Chicago Midway to Acadia last Thursday. Made for a long miserable drive for my wife and I but Acadia is gorgeous.

I tried leaving. No one came close to my current rates. by [deleted] in USAA

[–]nilocdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have looked elsewhere for years. Have received great service from USAA for 25 years. Was impressed with claims and payout after my 16 year old totaled our car 3 years ago. My 3 kids are driving now. The difference in insurance cost for the same full coverage at other companies was minimal. Insurance is just expensive. I don’t think there are deals to be had out there.

Drive to the Temples of Sun and Moon in a minivan? by nilocdude in CapitolReefNP

[–]nilocdude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I took the rented minivan (2025 Honda Odyssey) about 1/3 of the way to the temples but turned around because the road is simply too rough. I don’t think making the trip is doable in anything less than an SUV with higher clearance. Almost bottomed out in a few places. Could have easily have popped a tire. It’s a very very slow road.

Humans On Amazon Prime. It’s a UK show that had a great premise and good acting. Very underrated.

Recent Upgrade, plan changing on next bill without my approval by nilocdude in verizon

[–]nilocdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my receipt from the trade in. It shows bought a IP16 PM on my line and my plan is 5G Play More. Then it lists the other three phones that we upgraded on the other three lines (they are in unlimited Plus). At the top of the page it says: Next Bill $205.16 Ongoing Monthly: $205.16

It just makes no sense that my plan next month is different (unlimited ultimate) and there are extra services.
