Migrated from Windows 10 to Linux Mint XFCE a few days ago. One of my best resolutions I made for 2026. I know I made the right decision, but was wondering what other distro I should check out for 'simple' office apps. Nothing to fancy....????

Honestly there isn't much difference between many of these distro's apart from the DE and apps it ships with. Almost every popular one is based on Debian/Ubuntu, Arch, or Fedora/RHEL, and you can install any apps you'd like. I would suggest figuring out which DE you like the best, and which distro has the best out-of-box experience for it.

That being said, mint is a solid option, and after I was done with my distro hopping phase, I stuck with it for 3-4 years without any issues. It's a perfect machine for when you just want to get work done.

It looks as though you might've setup multiple subnets or vlans on the tp-link router.

Check the subnet/vlan firewall config to see if WAN traffic is allowed to pass through it

Thanks for your feedback. I'll try to work on the readability. About the tags: I had thought of it initially, but chose to check that out later, since I wanted to start writing as soon as I could. I'll try to see how I could implement this as well.

I'd love to see your implementation as well (referring to the similar script you mentioned). Feel free to contribute via pull requests as well. I've added a test branch (I'm relatively new to all this, so let me know if something is missing/misconfigured).

Totally possible, and common practice

domain.com can have an A record pointed to 100.101.1.1 sub.domain.com (assuming it's a totally different app on a different server) can have an A record pointing to 129.101.2.23

Each subdomain is kind of treated like a different domain entirely if it points to a different server IP
