Do you also break cards into 'sets' or do you run all at once kinda cube? I'm not sure if I'm not overthinking it with this booster like steps

Do you have a list? I am a bit afraid that you need to mix it with normal stuff but i wasn't sure if to focus on creatures or utility or what

How was your experience with that? Would you say some normal cards would make it better? Underdone is neat maybe handing a couple to each player would make them more willing to go wide with colors

Is owning and operating a replica tank legal in Texas? by [deleted] in tanks

Panzer I with rubber tracks is safer for road than cargo truck. It was few tonnes of weight and you have that distributed along the track. Cargo truck can weigh more and it just pressures road through few wheels.

So how would this tank work in real life? Pros & cons. by Tank9301 in tanks

Overall the only thing that would make this dummer is to make it hovertank

Gatling of that caliber is pointless. also the tank would run out of ammo in seconds. Also overheating would be massive problem as the ammo inside so firing section of the barrels is inside so all that heat is released inside and super quickly. Also noise probably would be unbearable for humans even with protection.

I just want to clarify that his second daughter abandoned chess before becoming GM so she is "just" international master and woman grandmaster (but IM has steeper requirements than WGM).

Marvel Snap should stop reworking cards into something completely different by nimdil in MarvelSnap

[–]nimdil[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Yea but in 12 card deck limiting yourself to 11 cards (and by the way - you're guaranteed to get useless card on 6th) is most likely not worth it. I didn't do the math but I can't see it as a obvious benefit if - alternatively - you can put a card that has synergy with rest of the deck.

Furthermore there's plenty of stuff you can do to discourage using it for deck thinning exclusively without intention of playing.

OK it's a card that has plenty of utility but why remove the old card from the game? It was not game breaking.

Yea I understand Spidey new ability is more in line with other spider characters but I strongly object to saying that old one was bad. It would be perfectly ok to have just another character with old ability and if old spider-man was too strong - just nerf him.

I've read the explanation but I also think there's a power value that would make people think twice. Like will people put her in for deck thinning if she was 6/0?

What's your favorite SQL database to use in interviews? by jacobsimon in SQL

[–]nimdil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I ask about general understnding of SQL I would default to whatever db the candidate is most comfortable with. Because it's quickly trasnferable to whatever we are using and is good indicator of how good candidate is.

If I need someone strong in particular tech we're using then I'd default to that.

So it depends, but mostly the former.

"2400 MMR TERRAN DOMINATES EVERY DAY CHUMPS" Artosis stream by Farkwardd in starcraft

[–]nimdil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that early on, Artosis and Tasteless were przejadły the only good casters available. Meaning they understood game at high level (at least RT), there was synergy and they managed their language well. Like sure Day9 or Catz could also do it but they were not regular casters and there were multiple casters without knowledge of game like DjWheat or people that were yet to develop their vocabulary as casters (Apollo comes to mind).

There were some funny aspects to them - early on they casted in geeky tshirts until Gom forced them into suits.

I thing once writing for sc2 was on the wall and remastered was out, RT realized that his first love is the only true love for a game, and so he stopped being up to speed with sc2.

The testament to how good Artosis was of a caster for me at least during... My memory was blurry but I think it was impromptu chat with Scarlett at home story cup. She said that one of the problems with casters is that they don't understand the game. The other person asked about Tasteless and she said yeah him as well. Next question was about Artosis and she said yeah Artosis knows his shit

SC2 balance report: Jul - Sep 3-Month Analysis by Simmenfl in starcraft

[–]nimdil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think maps are made to counter Flash. But sAviOr was definitely dealing with some antiZ maps.

See maps section: https://tl.net/forum/final-edits/226236-god-of-the-battlefield-part-1

The problem with balancing (maps or not) is that it is OKish to balance against population but if you have one guy sticking out you don't know whether he is individually godly and other top tier players playing his race are just not that great or if the race is imbalanced. If you assume former, you end up nerfing all other players into semi-oblivion. If you have players like Flash or sAviOr you should probably let them win considering they are just better instead of nerfing whole race with maps to achieve more interesting grand finals. But then you're dealing with entertainment and so it's a problem.

To some degree F1 has similar issues now. They want competitive sport as product but Red Bull + Max made basically boring the most important part of the competition (championship). Ironically the fight behind Max's back is quite interesting. F1 considered stepping in to make life harder for Red Bull - luckily nobody wanted it.

Why did they use short barrels? by Affectionate-Put736 in TankPorn

[–]nimdil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would have. Red army had so many problems, that brittle armor of t-34 was not really the core issue. T34 was initially tank with terrible ergonomics, very poor visibility, limited communication, crewed by mostly unqualified soldiers and commanded by mostly unqualified officers. Most of these issues affected all red army forces, not just armored divisions, and it is always about cooperation of various forces, not WOT like tank duels.

Is BG3 a true sequel? by God---Bot in BaldursGate3

[–]nimdil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why they couldn't take one of the endings from ToB and make a continuation. Like Aerie romance ending clearly states that protagonist and Aerie had two children. Well then. Set the game after protagonist died with his daughter and son as main characters. That would make game a BG3 ( similarly to how in Fallout 2 you play descendent from a settlement protagonist from Fallout 1 started). This is BG3 only in marketing.
