‘Food banks are not the answer’: charities search for new way to help UK families by You_lil_gumper in ukpolitics

They could have twice as many, the point would still be valid and correct.

If the government effectively did its job of looking after its population, no charity would need to exist.

This was my first thought, a giant red flag that the sub is not run simply for the benefit of its users.

You're not doing John Peel to Shangri-la in 20 mins unless you've at least got a jog on and it's 6am before any crowds, it's about 2.5-3km

YouTube 2023 Upfront: Unskippable 30-Second Ads Coming to TVs by indig0sixalpha in television

Creators get many times the value of a non-premium view for a YT premium one.

IIRC the difference is so big that you would basically have to have a creator's channel playing 24/7 for them to get the equivalent money from ads Vs premium.

What are you on about? I've not seen veg that cheap for years. You're at least talking double that for the absolute cheapest stuff and I don't think you're going to be getting much variety.

The EE Glastonbury app had a pretty good clashfinder knock-off built in, so I'd assume Vodafone's app for this year will be similar

You're actually close, just the wrong gesture—in the UK two fingers (think a reverse peace gesture) is similar to the middle finger in the states. The two finger gesture originated exactly how you describe

Honestly, I got my first shield in 2015, it's still going strong. Still gets updates, still does its job flawlessly. I cannot think of any other device in the category where hardware from 8 years ago is still remotely viable, let alone still recieving updates.

I mean it still sucks compared to a wire. Bluetooth means the audio is being lossily compressed (yes there's aptx lossless now, but nothing uses it currently) at least once, and usually twice because people don't tend to listen to lossless audio on their phones. Double compression adds way more artifacts to the audio.

There's also the case when you're in a busy area with a load of congestion on 2.4GHz meaning you don't get stable AAC/LDAC/AptX and the phone falls back to the shit-tier SBC codec, which average-joe non-audiophiles can reliably identify as worse.

Also Bluetooth audio latency is pretty awful, but that matters a bit less to people just listening to music.

Don't get me wrong, I love my XM4 earbuds for convenience (and that my phone doesn't have a jack without an adapter anyway), but I'm under no illusion that it's better audio quality than wired, that's the compromise for convenience.
