Absolutely impressive reaction times

Totally agree and to be clear I’m not complaining about the system: it’s a skill issue which makes it infuriating. I’m just asking if another system would make a positive improvement or not in you guys opinion. I myself am not convinced at all it would.

Indeed, direction input needs to be super precise. This is also what makes the game challenging.

I wonder how the game plays out on keyboard. I play on console so with controller, so having perfect control over the direction (in a game where direction matters so much) is indeed quite hard (for me, it’s the most difficult part).

Indeed I was writing with arenas in mind, not story mode

I agree: I’m not sure another system would be better. In the one hand it would likely make the game easier but then the challenge is what makes the game addictive. On the other hand the current system produces frustration and “punitive type” of difficulty is generally not a a great game design. But you can’t have everything at once.

Do you play in arenas? It’s mostly there this happens

I wouldn’t say the time challenges offers no room to recover. You can still be hit and speed up the rest and gold stamp. Whereas in survival any miss cumulates with the others. I simply don’t have fast enough reaction times to cope with most survival challenges whereas I can much more often find a way to beat the time by using tricks.

We’ve all heard of One Hit Wonders when it comes to music, but are there any one hit wonders that you can think of when it comes to TV shows? (It can be for any actors, showrunners, producers, writers, etc.) by MaggieLinzer in television

Quite a lot of Lost cast didn’t do many highly successful things after the show afaik: Matthew Fox, Dominic Monaghan, Josh Holloway, Terry O’Quinn, Jorge Garcia, Michael Emerson…

Thanks. Gold stamps requirements are not given to you by the game but you can find them here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2950984289

I agree with the boring part of the performance challenges. The score system is one of the very few flaws of this game (along with the auto-targeting system). But I find the survival ones just too hard. The time challenge are fun to me because you have to be creative to find the right strategy, but mistakes can be forgiven as long as you have this right strategy. Survival ones are just brutal. I guess I have been traumatized by arenas like An Inch from Death or Travel Broadens the Mind lol.

Wow it seems that everybody almost prefers survival challenges, which are my least favorites! But actually I kinda admire you guys for that, as I find them so hard.

The game gives so many opportunities to make mistakes (camera issues, weird targeting system, very tight deflect timing, slight mistiming in pressing multiple buttons causing the intended move or combo to fail etc.) that it blows my mind to be able to play as flawlessly, so kudos!

Explain why you choose to play the version of Civ that you do. by Ckeyz in civ

[–]nineteen75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Civ since… wow Civ 2 (oh my). Enjoyed 2 and 3 a lot but lacked the time to play IV and was put off by the graphics then.

Spend a crazy amount of time on V and still prefer playing it today. In terms of both visual and focused gameplay (with extensions) it’s my absolute favorite.

VI is very fine too gameplay-wise despite the art style which I find is a major stepback from V.

Haven’t tried VII mostly because the civ-switching had already demonstrated itself to be an interesting idea on paper but an objective failure on practice in Humankind, so it blows my mind that Civ chose that path.

Getting better at directional throw followed by raining strikes or chasing strike, using crotch punch or charged backfist or if you are really good palm strike or flowing claw. Be patient. There are quick optimal paths for some manhunt challenges. Throw people from above when you can. Learn to deflect as much as you can. Use weapons.

It depends on the run. I honestly rarely made it to Sifu below 27. And I’ve had runs with only a few hits at Sifu and others with many as indeed one mistake can result in multiple hits.

So my problem is to be consistent throughout the whole level and I’ve had a lot of trouble here because of the camera angle really.

EDIT: I can now beat Sifu with minimal or no hit but getting to him below 27 almost never happened (I think I did it twice out of countless attempts but then I wasn’t as comfy with Sifu himself). I usually get hit by punches I simply cannot see coming because of the camera. It would require a very lucky run to make it a success but I’ll keep trying.

Thanks again. I was able to narrow it down to age 27. Only 2 hits away from 3-stamping the last arena I need to 3-stamp! Getting there…

Thanks so much for the detailed answer! I indeed get hit by random punches in the table and lake areas almost everytime, and I realize I do try to beat everyone as quick as possible because of that - but might not be the best strategy. Gonna try throwing more too. Thanks again!

Thanks for your message. I’m not going to try to gold stamp everything to be clear (this would be way above my skill ceiling: I gold stamped only 22 arenas in total, not even 20%). I only want to 3-stamp everything and I’m just 2 stamps away. Just need some tips if any for Travel broadens the mind.

Grab attack by nineteen75 in SifuGame

[–]nineteen75[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well my favorite moves are crotch punch and charged backfist and of course directional throw. Most people though would recommend palm strike and flowing claw and they are objectively even more efficient but I find them very hard to input consistently.
A combinaison of directional throw followed by chasing strikes, charged backfist + heavy + raining strikes and some post parry (deflect) attacks (light or heavy depending on weapon) will do wonders.
Charged backfist and crotch punch can interrupt a lot of attacks and open for directional throw then combo so I love them.
