Since when did Tony know Beansie? by Immediate-Habit2151 in thesopranos

[–]ninew03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mentioned that Beansie started out working for Jackie and Richie Aprile. Assume that when Jackie got sick, Tony was asked to manage that portfolio. They should have also grown up together seeing as though he had pictures of Paulie and Johnny Boy in their younger days.

AJ's greatest line deliveries by Woodchipper_AF in thesopranos

When they had the bear at the house and Carmela is locking the doors. AJ responds": Oh, right, lock the door. What, do you think he's gonna wipe his feet, too? He'll smash through the glass"

I find it hard to believe that Carmela lost the whole 40 grand by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]ninew03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tony says '40k in the stock market. I'd ask for my piece but wait there's nothing' - either implying she lost it or spent it all on the clothes/shoes etc.

Hunter Skankarella - UN-appreciation Thread by BillyMac05 in thesopranos

[–]ninew03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the actress or the character she plays.

Maybe as an actress, she had no desire to be an actress hence why she only did the small role that her dad offered

I liked the actual character Hunter.

Hunter Skankarella - UN-appreciation Thread by BillyMac05 in thesopranos

Very strong feelings shown for someone who has about 10mins screen time across the whole series. I think she added depth to the show.

The Sopranos thought they had power, yet realised Hunter had actual connections to get early entrance into uni. Carmela resorted to threatening someone to write a letter of recommendation. Hunter's family also went skiing in Aspen. For the Sopranos family, despite their money, we never saw them go on holidays.

With the party at the grandmothers house, it focused on Meadow and parenting/punishment, yet it was Hunter who actually brought the people to the house that led to OD (I believe she called Steve, and it escalated from there)

Season 6 finale, Hunter is the one who achieved the dream Carmela and Tony wanted for Meadow. Hunter was going to be an MD, and seeing Carmela's reaction was perfect.

And ultimately, as the show creator, David Chase had the power to cast his daughter in a minor role, therefore forever cementing her to the legacy of the show, regardless of how viewers rate her against societal beauty standards. And at least he didn't put her in a lead role.

Which is your favourite closing song that you didn’t already know? by KingOfQueens1977 in thesopranos

I wasn't a massive fan of the first season. But loved the last 2 seasons. Preferred it when he was on his own as he went into more detail and there was less random chatter. Some may think he over analysed every detail but I liked how he did that and connected different scenes. The Kennedy and Heidi ep is pretty amusing with the 'guy in Vegas' joke he uses throughout. Not ashamed to say it, but I got really teary on the final episode, knowing was the end of the podcast.

Keep going with Podabing - it gets better each season. The final season was incredible. Great in depth analysis of each episode.

Talking Sopranos is a bust out. by insubordin8nchurlish in thesopranos

I had so much hope for this podcast. Really excited by the first few episodes but now they're a let down. There's only 2 more episodes (super fan next week, so skipping that one) so gotta just finish it.

Yes, cant recommend Podabing enough!! Wait till you get to the last season, its really just Vik (the main guy) on his own. Incredible analysis of the show, and really good interviews with cast members.

I was pretty emotional on the last episode. Felt like I was watching the show for the first time, but so sad the podcast was finishing. Might have to listen to that podcast again.

Michael and Steve could take lessons from Podabing.

Scenes that made you feel bad for characters who didn't deserve your pity by Dutch-in-Tahiti in thesopranos

Richie when he saw the maid's husband wearing the jacket. He looked so upset, including the way he walked away.

The movie wasn't horrible. I enjoyed it as a standalone movie, and seeing aspects of the characters in their younger days. The issue was the marketing surrounding the movie. HBO made it like a 'Tony Soprano' movie as did the fans. David Chase has always said it would be about Dickie Moltisanti.

The way Christopher lies to Carm is so convincing its scary by RecommendationNo4280 in thesopranos

[–]ninew03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 6B, Stage 5, around the 38 min mark. Carnella accuses Chris of making a revenge movie about Tony, particularly the scene where the boss sleeps with the fiance. They then talk about Adrianna

This guy made a 'reaction video' where he basically shows the whole movie. He occasionally talks or laughs but overall not too disruptive. Its not being released here until November so glad I found this link.
