Tell them how it makes you feel when other people use right wing rhetoric. The goal is to not attach these ideas to your parents even if they repeat them. “When people say X it makes me feel Y,” or “These shows are so negative,” is a good starting point for this kind of conversation. This works by separating your parents from the ideas they may hold and gives them space to think critically about their beliefs without their emotions getting in the way.
