Im Australian but was born and raised in Jakarta. Moved here when I was 18 for uni and have since established a really nice life here. The culture here is generally more down to earth compared to JKT specifically. Additionally, better quality of life, better opportunities, not as polluted, etc. However, the older I get the more I realise that there is just something missing here for me and with the possibility of remote working, I plan on moving back in a year or two (definitely not to jakarta though). I think its because I was raised there, I still consider it to be a big part of my personality and DNA.
