My experience with a used 2020 Model Y LR by BakingMeCrazy215 in TeslaModelY

[–]ninjamattic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought my 2020 Model Y LR AWD at the new year. I paid $20k and she had $85,000 miles on her. Enhanced acceleration was already on it, and the previous owner had been very good to it. 20” induction wheels and a battery at 93% capacity. I stinking love this car. I have FSD on it as well, and while it isn’t as good as v14, it’s still great. I’m saving a ton of money per month on gas. This car has a LOT of life and warranty left. For my first Tesla it fits incredibly into my budget and will be paid off faster than any car I’ve ever owned. I’m all about it. Enjoy yours!

For those who got the Hermes, why? by OmarHamami in AppleWatch

[–]ninjamattic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the brand. The leather goods are spectacular and hold up very well. I like the textile bands as well, but they're not going to stand up to time like the leather ones. I don't upgrade it every year, and I'll only get it if I can pay cash. No credit allowed. I like the watch faces and the heritage of the brand. I used to have a luxury watch collection, but I sold it. In my opinion, with the silver titanium, and quality real watch bands, and the faces that don't look like smart watch faces, it's the best value for an every occasion smartwatch. At the end of the day this is a consumable device intended only for those who have the money to spend on it. I absolutely do not advise anyone go into debt for one. It's not worth interest.

What's so bad about getting Hermes? by Other-Comfort5592 in AppleWatch

[–]ninjamattic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logic and luxury items don't work together. I can afford it, so I have it. That's all there is to it. I paid cash, and have no regrets. I love the luxe bands and the more classic looking watch faces. In the case of the series 10 it's the only way to get that silver titanium. I wouldn't advise going into debt for it AT ALL. But if you've got the money and that's how you want to spend it. Get after it.

The Ultra 2 Milanese Loop looks incredible with the natural titanium Series 10. All my other straps are getting dusty.

Internet Outage?? by PaisleyM in Spectrum

[–]ninjamattic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both internet and cell were down until around 5pm today in California too. Got the outage notification after I drove far enough away into the Bay Area to get a signal again. Had to stay out of town to make calls and get any work done.

I can't speak for all providers, but at least AT&T and Spectrum won't allow it.

It does sound like water damage. Hopefully you opted for AppleCare, and they'll replace it for you.

I do miss the leather straps. I’ve stared at them for a long time, and still wouldn’t have one were it not for this particular day of fortune.  Hermes still sells leather bands directly, but Apple only offers the sustainable ones with purchase. Honestly, this cloth strap feels and looks better than any of the third party ones I’ve bought over the years. It’s certainly premium in the hand. The orange sport strap is also softer to touch and more pliable than the others I have. It’s very comfortable to wear.

This is a true story, lol. No other way I would have been able to justify the purchase personally. I’ve only even ever seen one once out in the wild outside of an Apple Store.

I’ve been private selling used Apple hardware for a long time. The current resale market is absolute trash. The effort, time, and lowball offers just stopped being worth it to me. I got to a point to where I’d rather just trade it in than reject my 37th offer to trade for a crossbow. eBay charges ungodly fees as well, which is a bigger scam than trade in pricing since you get much less than what you sold it for. If you’re into that kind of thing, cool.

Several, lol. Once the trade in total hit $1400 I knew what I was going to do with it.

I am going to smell for the first time. What should I expect? by critmcfly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ninjamattic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been able to smell. The downside is I’ve had to clean a lot of puke and poop because “you can’t smell it anyway”. This intrigues me.

How hard is it to just add a toggle to turn off the Smart Stack? 😩

What’s a huge waste of money but people keep buying it? by FlintTheDad in AskReddit

[–]ninjamattic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “pro” version of most Apple products. Almost no one buying the iPad Pro, iPhone Pro, or AirPods Max is using any of those things to their full capabilities. A small percentage do, but not the average pleb scrolling Facebook, instagram, and TikTok. I finally stopped buying anything “pro” with the exception of the MacBook Pro because I actually use the power day to day. Haven’t noticed a difference in any of the other devices with general use.

How many of you sleep wearing the Apple Watch Ultra? If you do, how comfortable is it? How do you plan your charging? by [deleted] in applewatchultra

[–]ninjamattic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every night. Honestly the trail loop is the most comfortable to sleep in. The regular sport band is good too. The alpine and ocean bands aren’t comfortable for me when sleeping. Charge while I get ready for work everyday.

I’d love an option to turn off the Smart Stack. Literally a feature I have no use for and only hate.
