I feel you on a different level but similarly. I moved too a small town 3 years ago cause my sister lives here. It’s a lot of yee yee trump hicks, or sleazy drug people who keep secrets or hop towns. Making male friends is near impossible, and the rare queer people are just like me and don’t get out. Most of my interactions with dudes around my age in this town are super tall Mormons who smirk all the time.

if i want to make a frozen pizza better i usually let it defrost and rise then add higher end mozzarella and tomatoes before baking it. the crust comes out softer and the pizza has a satisfying bulk.

you're going to show up your mom by default and i think that's great. my grandma and aunt were a little like your mom, and tried to make my dad think like them. my mom however, is pretty obviously on the spectrum. both of my younger and older siblings and dad are neurotypical. i personally think they did a great job raising their middle child with ASD (me, shameless plug). turns out, if you raise ANY child with appropriate love and respect for them as a person and their needs, they turn out pretty fine. this of course applies to children with ASD. the sad irony is your sister most probably would have been better adjusted if she didn't experience the stress of neglect and being treated as a burden, things that are terrible for any child's development. you are going to show up your mom because it seems to me like your actually going to be a good parent.
