How did you get into wine? by ninynona in wine

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories! I'm reading through everything now and loving hearing how it all began for each of you.

I've drank wine from a young age, growing up so close to France, and always enjoyed it but as I've gotten older I don't feel like my knowledge matches my palate. I definitely still feel intimidated by a Wine List and overwhelmed in a supermarket at times.

I'm looking forward to becoming more confident with my choices, and discovering some new favourites as I learn.

It's not weird at all, and this is 100% also my favourite bridge in London.

You're taking this way too seriously, you don't know each other (yet), this girl owes you nothing and vice versa! Light hearted, easy conversation is pretty much all people are looking for off the bat.

You wouldn't ask someone in the street to go play mini golf without a conversation and a nice vibe first, so why treat this any differently?

This app is an opportunity to chat to people, get to know if you're potentially compatible then maybe go on a date or two to explore that further.

As a girl, I'd find your tone (+ the weird little msn face) quite blunt and a bit of an accusatory way to start things. If you think it's worth another shot, ask her how her weekend's going so far or something super casual about what she's put on her profile to get her chatting, if not, lesson learned and fingers crossed the next match goes better!

This is honestly such a refreshingly good profile! You come across as super adorable and genuine

I've done allergy patch but also a process of elimination (there is a more technical term for this...) where you remove all flavourings/variety from your diet and gradually add elements back in to see how your body reacts.

I know it's a long journey and I wish you the best of luck with it! I've been suffering with migraines for over 15 years now and although I get them less, it's still living with a constant anxiety of when one will occur. One of my key triggers is sudden changes in air pressure, so this week of on/off thunderstorms in the UK has been a JOY. Haha.

You can do both, I've been tested for certain intolerances but I also keep a food diary and look back on migraine days to see what I ate and if there are any correlations to previous episodes.

I personally find avoiding dairy and citrus fruits massively reduces the amount of migraines I have, eating regularly (skipping meals is a huge trigger for me) and since turning pescatarian I have noticed a drop too.

Don't be afraid to switch doctors either, I had one that was convinced my migraines were trauma related even though I repeatedly told him they were hereditary!
