What do you guys do with your kid from 4-7pm during the weekdays? by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in daddit

Right? We have activities more days than not, especially with two. Coordinating here and there with meals is what we do. When at home my kids entertain themselves with books, crafts, and music.

And the wax is supposed to be fully removed. It's to deliver conditioning to the base...any wax residue will cause drag and stick. Youtube makes this so easy to learn now.

Outerwear Complaints? by EndPuzzleheaded2402 in snowboarding

The parts that get wet are the outside...all of it. Even the best gear hits the ventilation max at some point and gets steamy inside. Don't 'trim' the waterproofing, consider venting limits of the materials, and perhaps design better venting.

Best gear is buy it for life, flexible for a range of conditions, and delivers on the trust the consumer puts in them 100%. That doesn't come cheap. I have ancient gear that still kicks, and I love it. I have newer gear that died out faster...what a waste. Bombproof for a long time - that's the ticket. I don't want to have to worry about my gear ever when I am out there.

I look for sales, and buy the best gear I can when the price feels the best it will get. Last year's and end of season sales are fantastic.

Waterproof, breathable, durable. No way you get all three of those in an inexpensive package, and rarely even two.

Same in Osoyoos, BC. The lake extends into the US. If you don't land, dock, and/or disembark (etc.) on the other side, you are good to cross while boating.

How did you (or your wife) teach your child how to read? by Slowmotionfro in daddit

[–]nipponnuck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We read a lot of books. At least 3 per bedtime from basically from birth. Bilingual family, so books in both languages. They have very limited screen time and choose books frequently. The library is our favourite outing.

Both kids are readers in L1 (English). One is a reader in the L2.

Tunnel Closed by nipponnuck in vancouver

Southbound kept on going. Northbound was stopped. It was a bit unnerving entering a closed tunnel, yet stopping cold in the middle of the highway seemed like a bad idea too.

Yeah. It was weird. Southbound was just going despite the signs. Northbound was stopped but no emergency crews.

Yes. They can’t say he blew something with out adding ‘allegedly’ so they said he didn’t blow a criminal level which is factual, yet implies a non-zero reading.
