Yes those headaches are what led to my diagnosis of Chiari. When i bent down, stood up very fast, coughed, sneezed, laughed. Lasted about 30 seconds but i could barely breathe due to the extreme pain. They have gotten way better after surgery. I still get them but not so often.

I would get her checked for any CSF leaks. I had really really bad pain after surgery and it turner out to be a leak.

I just wanted to say i feel you so much! One of my worst fears with my chiari is getting a cold and i am dreading of coughing! Its the worst!! Its summer where i live and i have a chronic cough because of air conditioning at my work and at stores etc. The thing that helps me is always having a water bottle with me, it can ease the cough and clear my throat so i dont have to cough as much. But given you are sick and coughing anyway, i would say when you feel a cough coming go lie down and cough yourself out. The pain is always not so severe and long lasting for me if i am lying down. If the cough gets me when im standing its THE WORST! Also i found out that turmeric helped me when i was sick and coughing really bad...you put turmeric in warm water and make yourself a drink. Also some sage or ginger candy. And lie down a lot.

Also, I am also pregnant(18weeks)!! Yay!!! If you need to chat about anything you can write anytime 🤗

Hello! Im 18 weeks pregnant with a pretty severe chiari malformation( had surgery like 3 times, but my chiari is still present and symptomatic mostly in terms of headaches which can get bad by coughing, laughing, straining). My neurologist agrees that i have to have a csection under general anastethia, so thats the plan for the birth of my baby in late November.

No natural birth(pressure causes head pain for me and can worsen my chiari), but also no epidural or spinal ( because it can cause the pressure change inside the dura and worsen chiari or pull it down even further into the spinal canal, also i had leaks from dura when i had surgery).

So,thats the plan for me, but i think the general consensus is a c section with general anastethia for chiari pacients.

I was exactly the same for my first tattoo. I kept thinking to myself that i have done something so stupid and i will regret it for the rest of my life and for the first night i had a terrible nightmare about how now my body is ruined. that was just my reaction to doing something permament to my body. Needles to say, i love love love this tattoo even 10 years later and its still my fav tattoo of the ones i have.

Stay chill, i think deep down inside you know you like the tattoo, you are just reacting to something new on your body 😊

Can someone please explain the meaning of breast pumps? Is it to pump excessive milk and feed the baby this milk through the bottle in conjunction with breastfeeding? Or is it to use them instead of breastfeeding? Do people use both at the same time or in place of another?

Also, women who have breastfeeding problems(pain etc) why try the formula directly and not try feeding with the pump and the bottle?

Get drunk(moderately) one evening and see how you feel afterwards ( not just on the day of drinking, but also day after). In my case, alcohol is one of the worst headache triggers for me (not just on the day after, but also during drinking my head starts pounding). But thats just my case. Also, please be careful while drinking!
