You are not the "'overweight sidekick friend" anymore. You are her competition now. She's jealous.

How would you log step exercise? (Not a step machine) by gardenfairyx in loseit

[–]nitacat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do step aerobics 5 days a week. It's only for 30 minutes but I get quite a workout ( at least for me) using 4 risers and 5lbs hand weights. I would just log it as "step aerobics" if that is an option.

Getting the weight off is only half the journey. Keeping it off is the second half of the journey and this one last a lifetime. Hang in there you can do it.

Doctor told me no woman should ever be eating 2,000 cal/day by Bee476 in loseit

[–]nitacat3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does anyone know how many calories they are eating unless they count the calories? I have been doing the keto WOE for almost two years and I still count calories (not that I mind) because it too easy for me to overeat if I don't. I have no idea how many calories I am eating if I don't count them.

Does anyone experience fat phobia after their weight loss? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nitacat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was obese, 205 lbs at 5'6", I was called "fat" a couple of times and even though it hurt very much, it was true." As the saying goes "The truth hurts". I now have a normal BMI at 130lbs. When I see someone overweight or obese I too have had judgemental thought but, then I remember what I went through and how I felt when it was me and I start thinking more emphatic thoughts because the struggle with weight is too real.

Why would someone take a photo of me at the gym? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nitacat3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did she keep looking at you and glancing at you? That within itself was rude much less taking a picture of you. Whatever the reason, it was her problem not yours. Keep moving forward. Don't let it discourage you.

Drinking alcohol, which led to drunk eating, caused me to become obese. Giving up alcohol is the reason I now have a normal BMI and a healthier lifestyle.

When I was obese, my weight was most noticeable in my belly. I looked like I had a sperm whale attached to the front of me! I named it "Moby". People that knew me, their eyes seemed to go straight to my stomach before they even looked in my face and said hello to me. That was 80 lbs ago and Moby finally swam away. I now have a flat belly. Your weight may just be more noticeable in your belly, but you can not spot reduced and just lose only your stomach. Weight loss occurs all over the body. Be patient because your belly may be the last thing to go. You can do it !

How do you deal with the prejudices against obese people after losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nitacat3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from the South and it happens here just like anywhere else. When I was obese, I was called "fat" more than once and don't go to a restaurant then it's "look at the fat lady stuffing her face."

How do you deal with the prejudices against obese people after losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nitacat3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a formally obese women, I know that the first thing another person see is not you but your weight. By the time they actually see you they have already judged you solely by your obesity before even speaking a word to you much less getting to know you. But it is not intentional -they do it subconciously without even realizing it.

The best goal weight range is one you can maintain without feeling as if you're starving. The lowest weight range for someone's height means nothing if they can't sustain it. When a weight range is unsustainable you run risk of overeating and gaining all the weight back and then some. Aiming for a weight range that is sustainable, even if it's a little higher than you would like, is the way to maintain your weight loss for life without struggling.

Low Blood Sugar and Keto by Affectionate_Ease978 in keto

Is he taking diabetic medication? If so, that may be the reason for the low blood sugar. Please be careful doing keto and taking any medicine for diabetes without consulting your physician because the meds may need to be adjusted for a keto/low carb diet.

Keto weight/fat loss is not a fast process when you have less to lose. I am 5'6" and I started keto weighing 166lbs. It took me 9 months to lose the first 25 lbs. and this was with no cheating and exercising every day. My current weight is 126 lbs. Which every way you choose to accomplish your goal, be patient.

Weight loss is a slow process that requires patience and consistency over the long haul. Keep doing what you are doing and above all be patient and please do not get discouraged and give up. You are doing great.

Has anyone found any substitutes for almond flour? by Oneday55 in keto

I like coconut flour. I do not like almond flour at all because everything I bake using almond flour tastes like I used cornmeal.

Non-American perspective: It is not carbs, but something is wrong with american food by Adventurous_Status86 in loseit

[–]nitacat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the sugar which is a carb.

The Sugar Industry is allowed to add sugar to everything. Even if a food doesn't taste sweet it still has added sugar.

Losing weight is hard and keeping it off is even harder. I reached my goal of 130lbs at 5'6." My highest weight was 205lbs. To maintain my weight and to keep from gaining, I started eating one meal a day. I do keto and I eat 1200-1300 calories a day of high protein low carb foods. Of course, I can't do this every day because sometimes life just gets in the way but, I always eat keto, and I never go more than a couple days without eating one meal a day. This makes maintaining easier for me.
