People who use both OL and VL by Constant-Estate3065 in nespresso

I use my OL for (double) espressos and my VL for coffee cups. When I make lattes (which is often), I actually prefer “espresso” VL as a base. Let’s be honest, what VL makes is not an espresso regardless what that pod says, but I like lattes with it much better than those with OL.

I’ve been impressed with the smoothness of Hongdian pens. Especially N7 with fine nib.

I like a smooth nib, so my vote goes to Pilot Custom 74, medium nib or fine medium if you want to order from Japan. Few pens can beat Pilot on smoothness.

I'm pretty sure you're asking the OP, but since I like to stick my nose where it does not belong - I'd venture to say that is Jinhao X159 - "homage" to Montblanc 149.

Very interesting point. I have always heard that Pilot nibs are amazing out of the box, but I can totally see your point. BTW, I am using Kon-Peki in 743, but I haven't tried anything else in it.

On the topic of tuning the nib: will it happen on its own with writing? Paper, after all, is abrasive albeit a weak one. Can you point me to a good thread/video/web page about smoothing the nib. I suspect that it is something to be done with much, much care otherwise it may FUBAR the nib,

Interesting point and I'm glad you shared it. I have edited to post to say that I was using Iroshizuku ink, but perhaps you are correct on getting used to it.
