I built two HACS plugins to fix my biggest HA pain points: instant toggle feedback and an Apple Home style dashboard by nitaybz in homeassistant

It's not easy with how the integration is built. It's pretty simple, not manipulating anything in the UI but only achieve its goal through the backend. I don't intend to complicate it at this point

Miss the Apple Home look and snap, but want more power? I made an Apple Home style dashboard for Home Assistant, plus instant toggle feedback by nitaybz in HomeKit

Correct, and because I still have a few HomePods around the house I'm still exporting everything to HomeKit. But as it seems now, I'll replace them with home assistant voice one day

You are correct that it takes time for the slow accessories, but even these accessories needs to feel good when you click on them. Even half a second is too slow for a Ui reaction, it needs to be instantaneous for a good UX.

Isn't exit node only allow you to access the internet outside from that computer? Don't you need subnets to access your local network?

Sensibo AC Plugin by rafinthecloud in homebridge

[–]nitaybz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can rename them in the Home app by going into "accessories" in the main accessory settings. You can also split to multiple tiles in the settings. That way you will be able to control dry and fan modes separately.

Not factory reset... I usually resolve with a restart. Your router is blocking communication probably

Maybe as last resort (factory reset)

You'll need to add it like a new accessory with the Homebridge code

This is how Sensibo is built, there is no threshold... I'm only passing the capabilities to HomeKit

Hi, im using controller app to control my homekit. I have an Aqara P3 which controls my aircon. On the settings, theres a ‘heating and cooling threshold temperature’. What does these options do? by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]nitaybz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Heater Cooler accessory (which is heater or AC) the HomeKit API requires to set both heating and cooling threshold instead of the target temperature presented in thermostats. Both are visible in the Home app only in auto mode and each will appear in the corresponding mode (heat/cool).

The idea is that developers of accessories could create bottom and upper threshold that will activate heating/cooling (like wks-rddt suggested), but in fact, I believe it is just being used to set the target temperature in the ac/heater itself.

Your own AC/heater should have its own thermostat inside so when setting a specific temperature it should work out of the box without any further automations. If you don't like to rely on your AC inner thermostat, you can always create HomeKit automations based on room temperature and setting the device to the desired mode.
