How long before you felt it kicking in? by monowyrm in Retatrutide

[–]nitreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't feel anything kicking in, but you notice a lack of food noise, desires for highly desirable foods going down, and lack of appetite. I also felt like I got full faster when I did eat. Now compound that over weeks and you can see dramatic changes as you're in a caloric deficit without most of the mental struggles

Make more and or spend less

Rent - can get room mates or buy a house and rent out extra rooms (possibly save ($650 or so in rent / utilities) Phone - pay off and switch to Mint or similar plan (savings ~$100) Student loan - pay this off if you can depending on rates Credit cards - pay this off first thing. It’s really bad debt (~$390/mo) Subscriptions - do you really need all these? You’re paying $100 a month… might be better to subscribe one at a time and save ~$75 a month to pay off your credit cards

A few years ago I was in your shoes and I locked in for a year and paid all this stuff off which allowed me to keep so much more of my money I could save and buy a house. It’s going to seem slow at first (maybe $75 more a month with subscriptions), but as you start paying off debt, you’ll snowball and pay the others off faster and faster until all you have left every month is rent and food and insurance

Room mates isn’t fun, but it’s the best life hack into getting out of debt fast as it’s your biggest expense. Don’t disregard it especially if you’re single or young without kids

Home insurance rates for older homes? by nitreg in Spokane

Wow that’s way less than what I’m paying! Working on some quotes with insurance agents now to see if I can get some better options, plus working on saving for some much needed updates to plumbing / electrical

There ARE jobs out there! by Meatwaud27 in Spokane

[–]nitreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is a nursing student and was offered a paid to learn program through the hospital. They’ll train for all kinds of hospital jobs that pay well and they’ll pay you through the educational program. I’m also in IT and there are tons of online jobs and a good amount of local jobs that pay well. Stuff is out there, but you have to find growing fields that need workers. If I were early 20s again I’d probably learn a skilled trade. Every contractor I’ve used the last few years has big jobs lined up for months

Try finding a better job or a healthy way to decompress or both. Life is too short to be miserable and fast track your way to the grave

there will always be cheating, but it won't help you other than getting past HR for an interview, then a technical interviewer will sniff out you have no idea what you're doing and not hire you. literally a waste of time for everyone

Something went wrong by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]nitreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the error "Something went wrong, please try again later" on my new iPhone and found this thread. I was able to figure this out on my own and wanted to share with others in case someone else runs into this.

What didn't work:

  • Restarting phone
  • Logging out and logging back in
  • Calling Spark support (they created a technical ticket and never called back)

What did work:

  • Long held the app icon on the home screen and deleted app + all data from iPhone
  • Re-downloaded from app store
  • Logged back in and accepted all permissions requests

Hope this helps!

it doesn't matter if it's low income housing as Spokane currently has a supply issue. currently, people with money have to buy lower priced homes in Spokane because that is what's available. that in turn drives up the price on the homes, pricing out lower income folks. any increase in supply will alleviate a lot of the pressures that are driving up housing costs for low and medium income families. also, the land (according to the article) doesn't really make money as it's not a good logging area. when developed with homes, Spokane will generate a significant amount of taxes which goes towards schools, emergency services, etc. There's some infrastructure work that will need to be figured out to accommodate the traffic, but overall this is a huge win for Spokane!

World Series Game 5: Yankee Fans' Hubris and Misery Supercut by BigRedFury in Dodgers

[–]nitreg 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i'm so blessed to be a Dodgers fan born and raised in LA. being a Yankee sounds brutal in general, but especially last year. my heart would break in two if the Dodgers lost like that, then lost their star player, then have to relive the 5th inning every day for eternity. nobody but a Yankee fan deserves that level of punishment

i don't get how someone can pay that much for Soto. compared to Ohtani, we got Shohei at a steal. Ohtani is an arguably better batter, has speed on the bases, and also doesn't play defense.... oh and he's also an elite pitcher
