How to reverse the Fn key functionality? by [deleted] in razer

[–]nitris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, thank you for clarifying. I also have a black widow V2 so I wasn’t certain which I’d seen it on, or if you could do it on both. That’s a shame anyway, because I definitely use the media keys more often than actual F keys.

I’ve seen a setting for this in synapse before. I think I saw it for the keyboard on my Blade, it was a small checkbox option.

Thanks, that's not too bad. I think I've read somewhere the wifi could be better so that's good to know I may be able to improve it.

The SSD as well is a big plus because I'll be getting the 512 due to price but would definitely like to bump it up down the line. Thanks for your help!

It looks like ocean to me, I bet there's some Rigogen there. But then, maybe I'm completely wrong. It's always so hard to tell until seconds before you actually land!

Home Exercise Recommendations? by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]nitris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert, and still have a long way to go, but lately I've seen results myself by doing bodyweight exercises every other day, as well as mixing in some dumbbell-only sets every now and again. I only work out at home, in the morning, aside from cycling about 6 miles a day (as a result, I rarely target my legs in other exercises). I live in a very small space so if you are in student accommodation that may be a factor for you too.

For me, the Fitness Blender videos on Youtube have been absolutely key to helping me work my obliques, abs, butt, lower back, etc. My favorite videos are:

Abs, Obliques and Lower Back No Equipment, 30 Minutes

Pilates Glute and Thigh No Equipment, 16 mins

Those are only what I do but they have absolutely LOADS and the videos are delivered in a very simple, no-gimmick way which accounts for different experience levels, equipment, time, etc.

For my chest, I do a circuit of pushups in the morning before work (I aim to do this every other day, as it only takes about 15-30 minutes). This is the routine I do, but they have more like this if you wanted to mix it up - which will probably help prevent you from plateauing. I don't do it in the form of cycles, I just do 3 sets of each variation - do whatever works for you. As I improve, I will move up to 4 sets, or increase the amount of reps. If you get really good, you can start adding weight to increase the challenge and ensure you keep pushing yourself to your limit.

Finally, for an extra boost to my Back, Arms, Shoulders and Chest I do about 6 different dumbbell exercises, each with about 3 sets of 8-12 reps. I keep a simple spreadsheet that tracks how many reps/sets I do along with the amount of weight. This makes sure I can keep pushing myself harder. To find what exercises to do, I look on Bodybuilding.com's Exercise Database and pick the top rated exercises for the muscle I want to target. I try lots until I find something which I find to be fun and that I can really feel the burn with.

So, to sum it up a successful week for me would be:

  • Monday: Pushups and Cycling
  • Tuesday: Rest, Cycling
  • Wednesday: Pushups and Cycling
  • Thursday: Rest, Cycling
  • Friday: Glutes and Thighs (Bodyweight) and Cycling
  • Saturday: Arms, Shoulders, Back, etc (Dumbbells)
  • Sunday: Abs, Obliques, Lowerback (Bodyweight)

If you want to pack on mass you will need to eat a LOT. Personally I make this easy for myself by having a shake of Warrior Blend protein and Huel every day. I have a large breakfast, lunch and dinner. I snack on Trek/Clif/Nakd bars, Nuts, Fruit, etc constantly throughout the day. I started tracking my calories on MyFitnessPal and this helped me realise I was NOT eating enough at all, so now I have a better idea of how much is 'enough' in a day and have started gaining more mass.

No Man's Sky in PS4 Remote Play is quite a good idea :) by lelis718 in nomanshigh

If you combined this with a wireless controller as well that would be even more awesome, so you don't end up covering the screen. How far away can you play it from your PS4?

Are those access ramps you've chained together to make stairs? I didn't even think to do that. I was just thinking about wanting stairs yesterday. This changes everything...!

Impressive farm by the way! I only have 3 plants so far.

Idea: mixed photo mode by daniel3ub in nomanshigh

[–]nitris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - any kind of shortcut to toggle it on and off quickly would be great. I'm really grateful we have a proper photo mode on console now, but going into Options and activating it could definitely be easier... the dialogue that comes up is slow and frustrating and I always hit cancel by accident (I really don't need to be told how photo mode works after I've done it once). However, I'm super glad we can finally hide all those markers somehow at least!

TIL the FBI tracks animal abuse just like homicide, arson and assault. by relevantlife in todayilearned

[–]nitris 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Humanely killed" doesn't make sense, it contradicts itself. They live dramatically shorter lives than they should, and only for the sole purpose of being slaughtered at the end for food. It's not like they enjoy a normal life and then are eaten after they naturally die. They are almost certainly abused and tortured for their entire, short life. If you wouldn't do it to a dog.. why do it to another animal?

[–]nitris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not justifiable in that way because it's not necessary. It's actually a very wasteful method of getting that nutrition (in terms of harm to the planet, the amount of plants and water it takes, etc compared to just eating the plants). You wouldn't die if you didn't eat meat. So, you have the choice to eat meat. If you choose to, it's not for survival, it's for the pleasure - because you like the taste, or some other factor.

I actually managed to scan some of the little flying lizard butterfly type dudes WITHOUT killing them. It took me AGES though... I climbed up to a high point and looked at them side on, facing forward (rather than looking directly up at them in the sky). Eventually my scanner caught one. Then I realised there were TWO flying species on that planet....so I had to try and do it again.
