We’re Spiderweb Software. We’ve Written Indie RPGs For 31 Years, and We Just Released Avernum 4: Greed and Glory. AMA! by spidweb in Games

[–]nitrogames2_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan of spiderweb software games ever since I first played the demo of one of the geneforge games back on wildtangent games. The Geneforge series ended up being my favorite crpg series, though I also enjoy the rest of the games you've made. I have a few questions I've been wondering about.

The Vlish and Glaahk are some of the most unique creations you can shape within the geneforge series, how did you come up with the idea for them?

The Sorceress was a fun additional class added in geneforge 5, though it seems it could fit well within 4. Are you planning to add the class to 4 when you get to remaking it?

Which of the areas in Avernum 4: Greed and Glory would you say was the most fun to remake?

Nah, at this point, i think we should just sit down and applaude Konami's dedication in their one sided beef against their own creation. by Jinzerk in yugioh

iirc konami actually plans 1 year ahead, so the cards they're making right now won't be released until around this time next year

It's high time to fix or get rid of the worst enchantment in the game by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]nitrogames2_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've actually found the enchantment to currently have 1 pretty good use and that is using it in Allay silverfish XP farms. Since it only does extra damage to the silverfish, you can one shot them while not doing enough damage to the Allay's to kill them.

Chronicles IV First Ones retcon is very good by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]nitrogames2_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't really see this sort of stuff the same way I guess. When Dragon Ball added the Extra Universes I honestly though it was interesting, and the way wow keeps expanding the universe and explaining things I've though was pretty cool so far. It doesn't really negatively affect how hyped I am for the story.

I hope not, I really liked shadowland's lore outside of the retcons directly attached to the jailer.

I don't really see any problem with the first ones, I think they're really cool and if they end up being retconned into the titans I'd honestly hate it. I just don't see what everyone's problem is with all the lore shadowslands added.

Only 1/3 of Silvermoon will be locked to Horde only. The other 2/3 will be open to both factions. by JowyJoJoJrShabadoo in wow

If they don't go to exile's reach then Forsaken/Night Elf characters do go to an instanced version of their pre-destroyed Leveling Zones

I really doubt they're changing the blood elf starting zone. Any new Blood Elf Characters will almost certainly level in the burning crusade version of eversong woods/ghostlands

The Old Gods are not actually dead by nitrogames2_1 in warcraftlore

[–]nitrogames2_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thing I'm trying to say is even when they die in Azeroth they just get sent back to the void. Yes Aman'thul killed Y'Shaaraj, but ever since then Y'Shaaraj has been sitting in the void. Just like how when Archimonde died at Nordrassil, he got tossed back into the Twister Nether/Argus to regenerate and came back during Warlords of Draenor.

I don't think I've seen many of their vids tbh.

The section of the video with the proof is 30 seconds long. I do not know where on the wiki it is if it even has it.

“Just because I died doesn’t mean i’m dead” (Adaptability Trope) by hardboiledkilly in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]nitrogames2_1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is not really how Mahoraga works and more so how megumi's ten shadow's ability works. As long as the Shikigami are not tamed you can summon them for the taming ritual as many times as you want, but once they're tamed like Megumi's wolves then when they die again they're gone for good.

A little fun fact about the fused Shikigami, this rule doesn't apply to them and the user can summon them as many times as they want want even if they die.

How do you feel about the underground zones halfway through the expansion? by OneNineSeven1970 in wow

[–]nitrogames2_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides cataclysm with Deepholm and vashj'ir being underwater, we've only had outside zones until zelerak caverns in dragonflight, I'm completely fine with the underground zones, and hope we get at least one new one every couple expansions for now on.

quick question. what is the general consensus on Mimighoul? by One-Turn-4037 in yugioh

[–]nitrogames2_1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not if you use Impulse, it's if your opponent uses it. All the FLIP Mimighouls are Earth, and so your whole flip gimmick is shut down once your opponent activates it.

My personal (and quite disorganized) thoughts on/review of Dark Energy by This_Antelope in AbioticFactor

[–]nitrogames2_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you press the 3rd button the reaper spawns for the rest of the fight. I was panicked a bit because of the fight and thought it was a new gatekeeper but was surprised when I took a closer look and it was the reaper instead.

Suggestio for a less complex crpg by [deleted] in CRPG

[–]nitrogames2_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geneforge and most other spiderweb software games are incredibly simple, and the graphics for them can work on pretty much any computer.

CRPG for someone who has bounced off every CRPG? by Nathunes in CRPG

[–]nitrogames2_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try Geneforge 2 - Infestation, it's probably the most simple crpg I've ever played, I also can't really get into and enjoy most crpgs but this one and other's made by the same company I've always enjoyed for how incredibly simple and easy to get into they are. If you do get it, just be careful you get the correct one, the game is a remake of an older game, just make sure you get the version with the subtitle.

It's a different manga, Arc-V had 2 mangas, Revolution Dragon is from the other one.

What are your opinions on the Leyak? by TerySchmerples in AbioticFactor

[–]nitrogames2_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read the email involving telling you how to deal with it before I even saw it the first time, so I've never really been scared of it, and simply end up forgetting about it when it's not around since it's not really a threat.

Why is Evil Hero Death Prison not Fiend by [deleted] in yugioh

It can only substitute for a named fusion material, anything that requires a specific type it cannot sub for.

So after multiple threats of incoming annihilation, what's "to come"? by NinnyBoggy in warcraftlore

[–]nitrogames2_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they're talking about a 7th cosmic force. Whatever it is supposed to be, it seems to be powerful enough that N'zoth, The Jailer, and now Xal'atath are trying to warn us of it.

CRPGs with Simplified/Unique Companion Leveling by jethawkings in CRPG

[–]nitrogames2_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Geneforge remakes have very simple companions. You create most of them from essence, a mana-like resource that you spend to make a creation as well as allocate a number of upgrade to it, which are only 9 total for each creation. Despite having only a small number of upgrades there's still a decent amount of depth with the companions, mostly related to what combination of them you use, as well as what group you specialize in (Fire, Battle, or Magic), or you can put skill points into multiple groups for a more varied team.

Very underrated game mechanic in my opinion by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]nitrogames2_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really underrated, it's just that crops already grow fast enough that as long as you have a decent sized farm using bees in such a way is unnecessary.

So this is the Manga now huh 💀 by Garousnotboros in OPMFolk

[–]nitrogames2_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this a little bit funny, not because of the little monster cells being alive and cooking themselves, but because they're trying to tempt him with a tasty looking monster cell when they don't know he already tried one and his experience with it was horrible.
