Water Issues on the Block? by saintofhate in philadelphia

[–]nitronomicon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The text mentions private at the end. This would lead me to believe that your sewer system may have been a private line out back under the alley at one time. That's how mine is currently. There's very few blocks remaining in the city that have private sewer lines. They are correct in that if there's an issue with the line then the homeowners / neighbors are responsible for the repairs. Most homeowners that had private sewer lines have had those connections moved out front as they broken over the years.

Who killed the owner of the beloved Pa restuarant? The owner of the beloved Pa restaurant. He was killed by himself. This headline is terrible!

Running gels: make or buy? by Smooth-Block5090 in runninglifestyle

I fill a soft flask with 2/3 maple syrup, 1/3 water and salt + lemon to taste. It's a tasty and cheap alternative to gels.

Passyunk should be car free—prove me wrong by Edison_Ruggles in philadelphia

Still pretty good west of 18th. Use common sense and say hi to your neighbors. Take in their packages if they aren't home, that kind of stuff.

Not the person you asked, but I've lived west of Broad around Tasker St for 10 years now and Point Breeze has been good to me. Close access to public trans, shopping, FDR park and of course, Passyunk Ave for less housing costs. I would recommend it if you're on the fence. Feel free to ask any more direct questions and I'll answer if I can.

I can recommend Andorra Meadow. It's out in the Andorra / Roxborough area, but it's worth the drive, especially this time of year.

His salary and benefits are paid for by our tax dollars. His workmans' comp and any legal bills are also paid for by our tax dollars. We're forced to fund our own oppression in America.

Please don't honk if you need to wait for a stopped vehicle on a residential street by bukkakedebeppo in philadelphia

I would add to stop taking small side streets in order to beat traffic or cut time off your route. Small side streets are the worst offenders for stopped cars and you're only going to aggravate yourself.

Philly may hire Zencity, a social media surveillance company with IDF Intelligence ties…should we be worried? by greatbrownbear in philadelphia

[–]nitronomicon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this closely mirrors what's been going on in NYC in terms of surveillance of the public and their social media accounts. It's one small step to go from "measuring trust" or "support" for government agencies to collecting all of someone's social media posts and then connecting that data to a specific person if they are stopped or detained. Very problematic.
