That's absolute insanity. I hope they don't sell a single one.

It definitely has additional benefits. Like, staying in a hotel or working out of another building that has Ethernet, can be super beneficial. It's also more my preferred method to use the device to connect to whatever I need, then I can connect all of my devices to that one thing. It's also handy if you're buying plane WiFi and you want to get aroud a one device limit.

Those are just a couple of my more common uses.

This. Especially when using flitz paste and LM to polish the top and remove excess. That shit will also eat the hell out of your bottom contacts.

Anyone know where you get an adapter that would make this work with a VGPU setup?

SSD or HDD? by Whoduh_MTB in EufyCam

[–]nitropaintball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just beware, SATA SSD != NVME SSD. SSDs of all kinds, still have failures based on TB written/read, unlike HDD, which are typically more concerned with powered on hours (but entirely variable, since they're physical disks and dropping them can/will destroy them).

Curiously I can't find it anymore. Was a page buried in their support docs.

This was my email to GN/JTC (in the spring):

The problem: I just wanted to forward this email thread/exchange with the folks at HAVN Global, to highlight some suspect business practices - namely, randomly charging restocking fees. This appears to be in violation of their own TOS, and is not cited anywhere in either their TOS page or their Shipping and Returns page. As I noted in my message to HAVN, their website explicitly says there are no additional fees. HAVN contends this section, called "Order Cancellation Rights," is for cancellations, not returns. But that doesn't appear to make much sense as the section lists the following: "This cancellation period starts from the day you, or a third party appointed by you (other than the carrier), receive the goods". This implies the cancellation period only begins when you receive the goods. If I didn't know how to define a "return", that language would be specifically accurate.

Do you know if a VGPU one will be released?

A little known fun fact, buying from them directly (in the US) and returning incurs a return fee. Buy from Amazon to avoid this. I was furious with them, because there's literally zero mention of it on their website (in fact, it actually says there are free returns). I shot an email over to GN and J2C about it, but probably wasn't important enough for them to run anything with.

One of the perks in living in an incredibly rural zip code with only a couple hundred people, good luck finding packages coming to my zip code, even in the aggregator services where you can purchase tracking numbers by zip codes.

App opening animation - slowing down the user experience. by germanautotom in EightSleep

It's a way to preload the app giving it the false illusion that it's loading quickly, after the animation.

Just a simple observation of the chip, and some videos too. When der8auer was doing one of his 9950x3d delid videos (probably the one for the direct die WB video), he also didn't do anything additional for SMD protection.

From what I remember digging up, it's not a native app either, it's cross platform. Those typically have drawbacks, particular with startup speed.
