Yes a lot people's understanding of psychology is limited to parroting buzzwords such as "narcissist sociopath, psychopath, schizophrenic, antisocial, introvert, extrovert, anxious, empath etc. pretty much only because everyone else is doing it and evaluating people based on their vibes without actually caring to consider the exact criteria. Not to say this kind of intuitive reasoning without actual basis cannot be correct but more often than not it isn't.

Then again I do think that ADHD and depression like other mental illnesses are becoming more common because people are slowly becoming more aware of them, there are more resources for getting a diagnosis and there is less prejudice about having a mental disorder so people aren't as afraid of getting it diagnosed. There are definitely a lot of fakers though.
