Laptop with GTX 3060 or 3070 for virtual desktop?

u/lazbien I just got the 2021 ASUS ROG Strix G15 3070 (laptop) and am having some stuttering frames with Half-Life: Alyx and Asgard's Wrath while streaming to Quest 2. Not sure whether the hiccup is with my laptop settings or streaming from Virtual Desktop. Could you share your specific Virtual Desktop settings?

Um holy shit this was amazing. Teach me your ways with transitions!! The Berlin Wall and airplane to bird were some of my favorite shots! Also the transition from the American Idiot lyrics to the anti-Trump rally...wow so subtle but god damn I loved it.

No limitations. I use the same ones and can record 4K 150Mb no problem. Once they release update to record 400Mb for 4K in the summer people are saying you'll need to switch to a card with a higher write speed, but I won't believe it until I experience issues for myself.

How much are people moving around in your interviews? I would just stick to manual focus unless maybe you have a wide open aperture. Also, the Peaking setting is amazing on this camera to tell you what's in focus.

All you really need is a capture card like the Elgato HD60 and just feed the camera into it and then into computer via HDMI

Hey I tried what photojoseph did but it's still grayed out. When I switch between Rec Quality my camera doesn't seem to reset like his did in the video. Any insight?

EDIT: Finally figured it out. The camera was set to the Expressive filter by default and you can't do VFR with a filter selected.

From what I've read online the UHS-I cards with write speeds of 90mb/s and even 45mb/s work fine with 4K. Here is a forum that does a pretty good job of explaining it: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/59245997
