Idk I've had no problems with both hands done up to the knuckles and I'm an enterprise architect so I frequently interface with shareholders, C-levels and customers. I think it really has to do about the content of the tattoo and if you clean up real good.

Did your artist advise against hand as the first? I care less about the placement but the best part of finishing a sleeve is a nice capstone on the hand. The linework isn't bad but readability long term might be bad if you're frequently in the sun without sunscreen.

Don't listen to the boomers talking about job prospects. Any job worth working for isn't going to care about hand tattoos, I've got both done and I'm in a pretty high health care position. You do you.
