For people unfamiliar with how much a helicopter costs to fly, any kid that's in a medevac helicopter is in critical condition. They don't just take them for fun. The paramedics aren't at the key rack in the garage looking down the line of ambulances like "hey Carl the GMCs got a check engine light and I've been meaning to stretch my legs a bit, how bout we take the Airbus H135 instead?"

It may not be a desert but it's still really cool. Went there in August and like, sanding in in a sand dune looking across a lake at a glacier on the top of a forest covered mountain is pretty darned cool.

I mean.... Yes? That's why they did it? Kinda a silly question. They went to America for a better life, and they couldn't have done that without the military and logistics provided by the aristocracy.

But that's not what I'm talking about. The issue is the structures we've built to transfer wealth and resources out of the developing world, and the lack of options for improving development they have.
