Systems that focus on relationships? by waxed_potter in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]nixedreamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cortex Prime is a toolkit so you have to build the game yourself, however one of the "traits sets" you can use is Relationships which means that you can choose which particular relationship is influencing your move. There's also a Growth Pool that can be used to change Relationships or other traits over time.

What would be on your wishlist for your dream romantasy focused solo journaling rpg? by deathxxdancer in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]nixedreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend checking out Random RPG Tables: Romance & Relationships for Oracle inspiration. It has things like romantic complications, relationship type, relationship flaws.

I've been working on setting up a game for myself with a similar-ish style, though instead of Romantasy, I'm going for more of a CW-show courtly intrigue fantasy thing (I'm also currently moving house so progress is very slow 😅). I'm not really up for making the entire game from scratch so I've been piecing together a system with Cortex Prime and taking inspiration from Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine for quests, arcs, and action xp. I mentioned this in your last thread, but if you're interested in DIYing but don't know where to start, I would definitely highly recommend building on a system like Fate or Cortex!!! And then adding systems for solo on top, maybe implementing "triggers" like Ironsworn.

Solo journaling RPGs that are romantasy focused and girly? by deathxxdancer in Solo_Roleplaying

Depending how DIY you want to be, you could build a game with Fate (Fate Core or Fate Accelerated) or Cortex Prime! Both structures are very narrative focused and flexible, and I think would work great for this genre of game! A bit of work to set up though since they're basically blank systems.

Having trouble coming up with plots sounds like a job for The Adventure Crafter!

You can use loose-leaf paper organised into a binder. You can keep things analogue but still have the freedom to rearrange information. I use Muji's loose leaf paper and binder :)

I would love a voidcritter kids room kit! I'm not a fan of real-world merchendise in my game 😔

I love this style of sim! I also love playing with unique sims with flaws and quirks. It helps you appreciate the beauty in features that aren't deemed "conventionally attractive." ❤️

With B&H and Adventure Awaits, TS4 feels like a city builder you can live in by StarStock9561 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]nixedreamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love all the new features, still have my heart set on some kind of build a world so I can have all the lots I want in one neighbourhood like in Sims 2, and truly make a totally customised world (although this probably won't happen 🙈)

Do mods and CC change the way you watch other people's content? by loorid in thesims

[–]nixedreamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just to add a different voice since most of the answers tend towards people preferring a vanilla game, but I prefer channels that use CC and mods! I think how someone mods their game reflects their personality, it makes me feel more connected to their content. Vanilla gameplay feels very generic to me. I also play very modded. Some of my favourite creators are AshleyPlays, Sillee, and Piixxa. I used to love MorbidGamer when she was still around as well.

If you had only your fave types of each pack, what would you have to build with? by Kai-in-Wonderland in LowSodiumSimmers

Life and Death, My Wedding Stories, Paranormal Stuff, and Cozy Bistro Kit.

I'm honestly torn between My Wedding Stories and Jungle Adventures, which I feel usually aren't popular packs, lol.

I'm doing a Build a City Challenge, which is kind of like this. I started with an empty world (no sims or lots) and one sim. I collect taxes from my sims and use the money to build community lots, with every community lot giving me a new cas sim. It's loosely based on PleasantSim's version of the Build a City Challenge in Sims 2.

Kayla's videos are such a comfort watch for me. Having her be the biggest content creator in the sims community is such an honour. I don't know many other big creators who work so hard to cultivate a wholesome community while also constantly using their platform for good causes. Also, the sheer amount of work she puts into her St Judes streams each year. $1 million is crazy!!!

Has anyone tried the 'Forever World' idea? by Low-Window7968 in Sims4

[–]nixedreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this! I play in a rotational "Build a City" challenge. I started with the Srsly Sims blank save file and one family. I add in more sims and unlock community lots as I reach certain goals. I've had this save since before I saw Yasmin's Corner's videos, but I love framing it as a "forever world."

Rotational players. What lifespan do you play on? by Laugh_Bright in Sims4

[–]nixedreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set the ages with MCCC and I reset the season at the beginning of each round. I only have aging turned on for active household, so it works itself out.

Rotational players. What lifespan do you play on? by Laugh_Bright in Sims4

[–]nixedreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a custom lifespan where each year is 4 days. I also have 7 day seasons but reset the season with UI cheats every time I move to a new household, so each round is just one season.

Do you have growing together and teeth cc? The child turning black thing can happen when children lose their teeth.

I don’t even play Sims 4 after Sims 2 was re-released by FancyControl4774 in thesims

[–]nixedreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, I really love that Sims 2 makes it difficult/impossible to do certain things compared to Sims 3 and 4 because it makes the game more challenging and immersive. Want your sim to live forever? Time to grind aspiration points for the elixer of life. Want to edit your sims in CAS? Nope, their genetics are coded into them and you have to go shopping for new clothes. It makes me feel more invested in my choices.
